The next day, we fly to Washington, which is where BTS' last two concerts will take place. I can't help but feel relieved at the fact that the tour is almost over and that we'll fly back to Seoul to prepare BTS' comeback soon. We're all exhausted, and a short break in the homeland will do us some good.
While the boys are performing their first concert, I chat backstage for a bit with Minha and the make-up artist Somi, who I've been more positively inclined to since Jungkook's assured me I've got nothing to worry about. Incredible what a significant impact even his simplest words have on me.
"Would you girls like some water?", I ask them at one point. They accept, and I stand up to get some of the water bottles set up on a table a few meters away. As I do so, stars appear in front of my eyes, and I get dizzy for a while. That in itself isn't very surprising as it happens frequently to me when I stand up too quickly, especially these days where I've been eating next to nothing. Therefore, I don't worry too much about it.
However, the dizzy feeling still hasn't stopped as I've reached the table. Slowly, I touch my forehead. Why is everything spinning suddenly?
"Rose? Is everything alright?", Minha calls out, worried as I'm just standing there, frozen on the spot.
"Yes," I manage to press out.
Then, the whole world goes black.
...
The first thing I hear when I wake up are muffled voices in the background, growing louder and quieter again. It's like I'm listening to an old radio and can't seem to choose the right setting.
"Sejin, we need to get a doctor," a male voice says. Probably Jinyoung, one of the managers.
"On it," a younger voice responds. Some footsteps leave.
"Is she going to be alright?" That's Minha, for sure.
"If she wakes up any time soon, yes.", Jinyoung answers calmly.
At this moment, my eyelids flutter, and a whimper escapes my lips. Everything hurts, especially my back. Did I fall on the floor?
Actually, where am I? What happened? My thoughts race frantically through my head without finding an answer as to why I'm laying on this cold, hard floor.
The people around me notice my slight movements, and shortly later, a big hand touches my arm. "Rose? Can you hear me?"
"Mmh," I muffle, attempting to open my eyes full of concentration. As soon as I do so, I immediately regret it. The light of the outside world makes my head burst out in pain, and a piercing, intolerable noise suddenly appears in my ears. "H-hurtss."
"It's okay," Jinyoung says patiently. "You don't have to open your eyes yet. The most important thing is that you've regained consciousness."
"Just try to calm down, Rose. You're okay. Everything's okay." Minha's calming voice comes closer. She must have kneeled down next to me. Then, she quietly whispers towards her male collegue: "Geez, she's sweating like crazy."
"I can still hear you, unnie," I croak, making my friend giggle.
"Sorry."
"At least she's got some of her energy back," Jinyoung comments amusedly before asking Minha: "Where did Somi go?"
"Jungkook's back from his performance, she's helping him freshen up and also making sure he doesn't find Rose."
"Good. We can't have him be distracted right now. The performance is the number one priority."
