Two days later, Namjoon's and Hoseok's words still run through my mind. What other ways are there to grow more independent? Why did it feel like they were portraying me as the bad guy who'd purposely hurt Jungkook by moving out? That isn't at all my intention. I've spent eight months of my life attempting to make this boy's life as easy as possible, which reasons could I possibly have to hurt him
Besides, Jungkook's a grown man, and it's not like he's in love with me or anything. He'll get over me moving out. I sigh. Even several, extremely long phone calls with Eun haven't been able to clear the situation up for me in the slightest.
"Rose-ah," Eun told me the other day, "don't you think that moving out only results in you pushing away the problem instead of solving it?"
"I agree with you, Eun-ah, but what else am I supposed to do? I somehow need to get Jungkook out of my system while still working for him every single day? Can you think of any other possible way of doing that?"
No, she can't. No one can. I am doomed.
Speaking of my boss, I am currently knocking on his door to get him to sign some paperwork I forgot to mention earlier at the office today.
"Yes?" When he opens the door, he's wearing all black (how surprising) and the only light source's coming from his screen, meaning he's in gamer mode. My eyes widen as I realize that fact, since gamer Jungkook is not exactly the nicest Jungkook, and I immediately back away out of fear.
"Oh, it's nothing urgent, oppa. You keep playing.", I chuckle nervously.
"Wait." His tired, raspy voice (he's spent all day in the recording room) sends shivers down my spine. Geez, Rose, can't you just calm down for a second? Why does he always have to be so irresistible in the worst moments? "What was it?"
"Just some work-related stuff. It can wait until tomorrow. Wouldn't want you to lose because of me or anything." That has happened before, and Jungkook was fuming for hours afterwards. Never upset a gamer. Surprisingly enough, this has been one of the most important life lessons I've learned since working for Jungkook.
"I don't lose." He just cuts me off calmly, ever so confident.
"Okay, good for you. Bye, oppa."
"Wait, where are you going? What were your plans for tonight?"
"I don't know, finish off my work, clean my room, read a bit..."
"Shit, that's boring. Come play with me."
"Thanks for the offer, but I've got no idea how to play."
"No problem, I'll teach you."
I laugh nervously. "That's really not necessary oppa, you'll just get annoyed at me."
"Wouldn't be the first time that happened." He pulls me into his room by grabbing my arm arm and closes the door behind me. "Come on now, Rose-ah."
Wonderful. Now there's no escape. I'm alone with the monster.
He points to his seat. "Sit down, Rosie."
I give him a sceptical look, making him grin amusedly, before I plop down onto his chair, which, I have to admit, is extremely comfortable.
"Do you recognize this game?" Jungkook asks me, referring to game currently displayed on the screen. His elbows are resting on the back of the chair, on each side of my head, and his breath tickles my skin. The fact that he's this close to me but I can't even see his face drives me insane, and makes my heart beat faster immediately. Looks like I don't need to play video games to have sweaty palms.
