Students were buzzing with excitement as the second Saturday of November rolled around; Quidditch season had officially arrived.

The match between Gryffindor and Slytherin was less than a half-hour away, and Evelyn, Holly, Remus, and Peter were quickly making their way toward the quidditch pitch.

Remus and Peter were fully decked out in their Gryffindor gear, ready to support the two quidditch-playing Marauders. Evelyn and Holly wore their usual Hufflepuff robes and scarves, however, they were adorning large red and gold 'G's on their cheeks which Remus insisted on painting for them.

"Man, I hope James and Sirius squash those slithering snakes into the ground!" Holly exclaimed, squeezing Remus's hand so hard that he let out a small yelp, pulling his entire arm away from her out of instinct. She quickly sent him a look of apology, gently rubbing his hand before entangling it with hers once again.

"Okay, Holls. I think it's time to take it down a notch before you break Remus," Evelyn teased, chuckles coming from Remus and Peter, but Holly was not finding it as funny.

"This is serious, Ev!" Holly said as they neared closer to the pitch, "The first match of the season is between Gryffindor and Slytherin, it's a big deal! I know you and Rem don't fully appreciate the wonder that is quidditch but at least have some respect!"

"Maybe you should have some respect for the bones in my hand," Remus countered, a wide grin playing on his lips.

"Holly is right," Peter chimed in, "This game is a huge determiner of how the rest of the season will go. It's serious."

"And, that is why you're my favorite, Peter," Holly said, releasing Remus's hand and wrapping her arms around that of Peter, who had a blush creeping on his face.

Remus rolled his eyes, tugging Holly off of Peter and replacing his hand in hers, pulling her nearer to him than before.

Evelyn smirked at the obvious jealousy radiating from Remus. It seemed silly, the idea that Holly would have any interest in anyone other than the tall, sandy-haired boy who she hadn't been able to get enough of the past month.

It had been a week since the couple made things official; Evelyn, Marlene, and Lily were finally able to convince Remus to pop the question. The poor guy was barely able to form a complete sentence through all of his nervousness, but, unsurprisingly, Holly agreed to be his girlfriend before he even got the whole question out.

Since then, it's been hard to pry the pair away from each other, meaning that Evelyn was spending a great deal of her time with the Marauders. She had always enjoyed the company of Remus and Peter, however, she had also found that her dislike for James was not as strong as she had originally thought.

Yes, he was annoying and a bit of an idiot sometimes, but it was like he actually could not help being that way. It was just the way he was. He wasn't being aggravating on purpose— unlike someone else Evelyn knows. James was quite funny when you got past his little quirks, and Evelyn, much to her surprise, enjoyed being around him most of the time.
