On the morning of March the tenth, Hogwarts was buzzing with excitement as the students prepared for their action-filled afternoons at Hogsmeade. First and second-year students watched with envy as their older peers strategized how they would be spending their precious time at the village—grabbing a butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks was a necessity, but so was stopping at Honeydukes to stock up on sweets. Hogsmeade had so much to offer and the students had such little time to indulge themselves, it never quite seemed fair.

In Evelyn's first experience at Hogsmeade, a majority of her day had been devoted to setting Holly and Remus up together—which had been well worth the sacrifice considering Holly now sat across from her, frantically putting her boyfriend's birthday present together, a wide smile spread across her face—but she was looking forward spending the whole day with her best friends, exploring the cobblestone streets and spending far-too-many galleons on chocolate and pumpkin juice.

Evelyn swallowed the bite of buttered toast that was in her mouth before speaking, "So girls, what's the plan for the day? I'm dying to see Honeydukes's—the infestation of flobberworms last visit didn't exactly make for the best shopping conditions," she said, giggling as she remembered James's unfortunate misunderstanding.

"Oh, well Remus and I were planning on getting butterbeers, and I promised to take him to Honeydukes so I could buy him some of his favorite chocolate," Holly said a bit sheepishly, not wanting to disappoint her friend, "but, I'm sure I'll have enough time to visit some shops with you after!"

Evelyn smiled at her gratefully, "Thanks Holls, but it's okay, I figured you would want to spend Remus's birthday with him. It'll be tough, but I think Marlene, Lily, and I can manage to get through the afternoon without you," she teased, but as she turned to the other two girls, the looks on their faces were conveying the same guilt that Holly had just worn a few seconds ago, "Do you guys already have plans too?"

"Well..." Marlene said, dragging on the word for a few seconds, "This girl from Ravenclaw asked if I'd wanna go get a butterbeer with her, and I said yes—wait a minute, what do you have to do Lily?"

The redhead looked up for a split second before quickly turning back to her plate and shoving a piece of egg into her mouth.

Holly shot Evelyn a look of confusion, Evelyn simply shrugging her shoulders in response.

"Lily Evans, you have a date, don't you?!" Marlene exclaimed with giddy excitement, "Who's the lucky guy?!"

It was quite obvious by her avoidance of eye contact and continuous shoving of food in her face that Lily wanted nothing more than to deter the conversation away from her mystery date, however, the others were not going to let her get off that easily.

"Oh, c'mon Lily, he can't be that bad!" Holly assured, setting her hand on the girl's shoulder supportively.

Lily simply groaned, setting her head on her left hand and using the other to move around a piece of sausage with her fork.
