  Chapter Ten

It’s been a bit more than a week that Brat and Cora haven’t been talking to each other. Cora didn’t know what to believe as everyone claimed that between Mimi and Brat there was nothing and he really loves her. She didn’t want to wait nor did she feel like ending the relationship with him. Since Christmas she has been crying all nights and got up in the mornings pretending that she is alright but her expressions became dull and she hardly said a word, everyone noticed but preferred not to mention it to her.  The clock showed it was 7:00 pm, the New Year Party was going to start at 9:00 pm, and Cora didn’t want to go out as she felt down and couldn’t support seeing Mimi with Brat and pathetically trying to impress him, but she had to go. She couldn’t be missing at Lana’s wedding at midnight and 2012 is going to be the end of the world, so she had to enjoy the last day of the sane 2011.

Pinkie and Andrew found out that there was chemistry between them but neither one dared to make the first move. It seemed that they felt guilt and regret towards their exes, although it was very sure for Pinkie that Fred has chosen Annie and that wouldn’t. In Andrew’s case Lilith was not going to come back to him as she was dead, and he needs spice in his life again. He didn’t want to become like Cora’s dad grieving until the last heartbeat and drinking cheap beer all day. 

Annie and Fred were having a very romantic week, as Mimi paid so much attention on impressing Brat that she totally forgot her friends and way to control everyone and everything. Fred feared that Mimi might win and Cora would be a broken hearted who would think about nothing else but ending her life. He didn’t feel the need to warn Brat, he knew it anyways otherwise Fred would not have heard of what might happen if Brat didn’t accept the game but the question was who is playing whose game still remained.  He thought that Tess might be able to help him with that but Mimi has already warned him that she will make sure The Freak is taken care of. Pinkie was ignoring him as she was angry about what he told Annie about her sneaking out at night and because he was so crazy for Annie.  Annie was wondering if she should still be part of Lana’s bride mates after her incident with Pinkie on Christmas. 

It was now 9:00 pm, on the beach there was a huge stage with a DJ corner and steps leading a wedding altar beside. The stage and tables were decorated with white roses and the usual party decorations. Everything about the party was demonstrating that would become a great party and a special night for everyone.  Music was already playing and the first guests had arrived having their first drinks and dancing. Brat waited till 10:00pm and then saw that his friends and their families have arrived. To his surprise he also noticed Viktor along with Tess and Billie, he felt shivers. Still he went up the stage, took the microphone in his hand and made a sign to the DJ to stop the music, then talking into the microphone said- “Dear ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry I have just interrupted the party folks, tonight is going to be a very special night, not only because it’s the end of this wonderful year but also because this will be a day to always remember for Lana Mikes and Pete Weston, who will going into the bond of marriage on this party tonight 12 minutes before the clock strikes 12:00 am. I would like to have everyone’s attention again when the music stops a second time before 12:00 am and hope it also be a night to always remember for each one of you. Now let’s keep rocking.” –He left the stage and the DJ put on the music again.

Lana was totally overjoyed hearing this and had to hold back the tears of joy in order to ruin her make-up. Pinkie and Pete tried calming her. Cora was touched too and felt relieved from all her pain of the last days. Annie and Fred danced together and seemed like the romantic moment was all theirs. Pinkie went to have a drink and ask Andrew for a dance, with romance in the air it felt like the right time to make a first move. Accidently she ran into Tess. “Oh sorry, hi Tess I didn’t know you were here.”-She said surprised. “Hi Pinkie, actually we didn’t plan on coming but we thought this year end is special.”-Tess answered smiling warmly. “Yeah, it is, my sister decided and planned to marry on this party. The exact time was announced 15 minutes ago or so.”-Pinkie commented. “Marrying on a New Year’s party, that’s something different.”-Tess said excited. “Lana is mad and Pete does everything she says, that’s how I see it.”-Pinkie stated. “Sad, I find it’s very romantic.”-Tess protested smiling.  Pinkie saw Viktor and Billie behind Tess. “Hi Billy, sorry I didn’t notice you, my thoughts are elsewhere.”-She greeted him. “No problem Pinkie. Tell me where are Annie and Fred?”-Billie answered. “No idea but I think they might be dancing or smooching around in some corner.”-Pinkie replied. “What you guys broke up and now he’s dating her? Wow, didn’t expect that to ever happen.”-Billie commented. “It just happens I suppose and it seems to be a serious relationship between them.”-She said cold. “Is Mimi here?”-Viktor asked her. “Yes, I saw her but I guess she might near Brat. May I ask who you are?”- Pinkie replied. “I’m Mimi’s cousin Viktor.”-He answered. “Ok. Guys it was really nice seeing you but I am looking for someone myself and will now leave you.”-Pinkie stated and headed off to Andrew. “Why does it smell of dog here?”-Billie asked as he hasn’t seen any. “That was Pinkie, she’s a werewolf.”-Tess answered. “Sounds like I have been catapulted into Twilight.”- Billie said not believing what he was saying. “Don’t be ridiculous, just shut up and enjoy the party.”-Viktor scorned at him. 

11:35 pm, Annie and Fred were sitting on the stairs leading to the wedding altar, which was completely decorated with white roses, as they were interrupted by Billie who was dragging Cora up the stairs, who was trying to free herself without success. “What’s wrong with you Billie?  Why are being rough with Cora?”-Fred asked shocked. “Wrong with me might be that your girlfriend dumped me, Fred and thanks to two cool freaks I have now became something special and will drink the blood of Cora.”-Billie answered and jumped to the altar carrying Cora. Then he bit into her neck and drank, after which he tore out her heart covering the beautiful white rose with blood and a big blood puddle on the floor. Annie ran to Cora crying as Billie stood there proudly grinning. “Why did you do that?”-she cried. “You dump me with a piece of paper, writing that I shouldn’t be part of your life anymore. Then, you don’t call, you don’t write …”-Billie answered. “What are you? Why did you do that with her?”-Annie sobbed. “I told you that I’m special, Annie sweetheart but you never believed me and now I have become a monster. Why Cora, well I thought Fred’s blood wouldn’t taste good as women are sweeter. So then I thought of Pinkie but her doggy smell was awful. Cora was perfect with her troubled mind and sweet smell.”-Billie stated grinning satisfied. Fred went up the altar and tried pulling Annie away from Cora, whose tears were running like a waterfall. But it was already 11:45 pm and Lana and Pete were approaching the wedding altar as Pinkie followed and the music stopped, reaching the first step, Lana screamed seeing all the blood and Pete puked. Mimi and Brat came running along with Andrew. Brat hurried up the stairs and recognized that it was Cora. “Who did this?”-He asked with tears in his eyes. Annie pointed at Billie. Viktor and Tess jumped onto the stage and pulled Billie away, both were really pissed at him. They left the party and no one noticed, everyone was shocked about the incident.  “Why did he do that?”-Brat asked sobbing to Annie.  “He is a monster and wanted to take revenge for I breaking up with him. “-Annie answered sobbing. Mimi came patting gently Brat and Annie, saying- “He will pay for this and so will the others.”

Viktor and Tess took Billie back to cellar and fixed on the iron chair. Viktor slapped him twice and then ripped his head off and dropped in Billie’s lap. He drained the body with petroleum and lit the fire with a match. In 2 minutes Billie became ashes.  “Ashes become ashes.”-Viktor said relieved. Tess had tears in her eyes. “We shouldn’t have transformed him he had too much rage in him.”-She exclaimed. “It was you who wanted him to live, he seemed to be a good pupil for you but I already knew it would end like this.”-Viktor sighed. “You make me feel guilty again.”-Tess complained. “That’s good because Billie messed up us asking Mimi a favor and Frieda will soon or already has sent the incarnated Annie smith to follow us and kill me with a wooden flock that will also kill you as you have transformed with my blood.”- Viktor explained disappointed. 

Lana and Pete’s wedding was cancelled as well as the party. The people were sent home; police came along with ambulance and took Cora’s body away. The night to always remember has become a night to forget. Mimi abused the situation, consoling Brat. It seemed like she has won. Annie was taken to the hospital as she got a nervous breakdown and Fred followed her. Lana was crying and Pete was consoling her. Pinkie was shocked and Andrew gave her company. They were now the only people left on the beach. No one has expected this on New Year.  The next morning, Annie was recovering in the hospital where Fred was holding her hand. Mimi left Brat alone who was sleeping and drove to Viktor’s cellar with a hidden wooden flock. Tess and Viktor who have been restless since last night’s incident were shocked to see her in front of them.  “Happy New Year.”-Mimi said hugging Viktor and at the same time stabbing him with the wooden flock.  Tess hasn’t been able to warn him as she didn’t pay attention to Mimi. “It was you, I was mistaken.”-Viktor managed to say with his last breath. Tess started coughing and then died too.  The Cursed Veil has fallen.
