Chapter Seventeen
Lana went to the club alone as her pregnant sister wasn’t allowed to party and had plans with Mimi. Annie spent her time with Esmeralda. Lana felt so alone, she watched the people dance and have fun while she sat in a corner gloomy sipping a Martini glass. Pete suddenly appeared on the dance floor smooching with Jason. “Yuck!”-Lana thought and she felt even more depressed than before. When she turned her side away from the dance floor she noticed yellow eyes staring at her and smile appeared on the man’s face.
“Miss, you look like to have fun…”-He said in warm voice with a glimpse of evil in it.
“Should I laugh or what? My fiancé has become gay, my best friend is dead, and my sister seems to have forgotten me and hangs out with a person who is all lies and somehow devilish, and Annie is unable to move on….. I’m all alone.” –Lana stated with a grin.
“I’m sorry to hear that and what you said is a pity, you such a pretty lady. By the way I haven’t introduced myself yet, I’m Sven.”-He stated placing two glasses of whiskey on the table and offering to shake hands
. “Lana”-she said shaking hands with Sven. Her heart raised she has felt such a cold touch before while greeting someone. She withdrew her hand as fast as she could.
“What’s wrong pretty?”-Sven asked.
“Your hand is cold as ice. Why is that so?”-Lana answered.
“Oh, maybe that is because I come from the North.”-Sven convinced her.
“I knew you weren’t from here. So what brings you here?”-Lana was curious.
“My bride is here.”-Sven stated smiling charmingly.
“Oh ok, hope your wedding ends well and you will live happily ever after. Why are you talking to me when you have a fiancé?”-Lana enquired.
“Because you are my bride and I’m sure that we will live happily ever after.”-Sven answered excited.
“Are you kidding me?”-Lana asked and laughed.
“No, I’m serious sweetie.”-Sven said stern.
“Now I’m confused.”-Lana stated.
“Good, let’s dance. There is still time for more.”- Sven said taking her hand, she followed and although this guy she had met had a strange way to talk, she was curious as he seemed to be so interesting and mysterious and seemed to know her in and out. That was a great feeling and the sarcastic nature of Sven was very deceiving to her.
Sven didn’t think his charm would be convincing enough to impress a human woman, as since he demanded Viktor to hand him Esmeralda he hasn’t talked to human ladies anymore. That was a long while. Lana was different; he sensed that she will be the right one for him. He had all planed since he caught her eye. Her last breath as a human woman would be on their wedding night, and then he will give her the highest post in the Council of The Cursed Veil. As they both will live forever and be happy in love every day of this eternity, it will be what Lana has always wished for, a typical fairytale like romance.
Esmeralda and Annie came into the same club and went to the cocktail bar. Esmeralda frowned as she saw Sven. “What’s wrong dear?”-Annie asked as she noticed her friend frown. “We should leave.”-Esmeralda stated making signs to the bar keeper that she wants the bill. Annie held Esmeralda’s hand, in order to calm. “Relax we just came and you said we need to have some fun again.”-Annie tried consoling her. “Trust it’s not save here. He has followed me. That’s not good at all.”-Esmeralda answered worried and scared. “Who has followed you and what did he do to you?”-Annie asked concerned. “Long story, he is dangerous.”-Esmeralda said stern and pulled her confused friend out of the club but it was too late. Sven has heard them and excused himself to Lana and was at the door faster than then Esmeralda would have expected.
