Luke's POV.

I ran through the halls looking for Calum. I was ready to say I liked him. I needed to do it while I had the confidence to or else I would soon be stuck in the friend-zone. I suddenly saw a blue beanie passing and instantly knew it was Calum. I quickly whizzed pass a bunch of people and tapped on his shoulder and he spun around and smiled.

"There's something I need to tell you." We said at the exact same time.

"You go first, no you go! Okay fine I'll go." We said at the same time again making us laugh.

"No seriously, you go first." I smiled at Calum and he took a deep breath.

"I... I just wanted to say that I--" the school bell cut him off.

"Sorry Cal, I have to run. Mrs Woods is gonna freak if I don't come this lesson." I frowned.

"Okay, I'll tell you at lunch." Calum sighed, walking away.

I couldn't help but feel the slightest tingle of guilt at the pit of my stomach. I knew Calum was gonna confess he liked me. I sat at my desk and saw Layla sit next to me.

"Hey, Luke." She smiled.

"Hi." I said back annoyed.

I was annoyed because I wanted to get this 'liking each other' shit over and done with.

"Woah, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." She giggled.

"No, I was actually in a pretty good mood this morning. It doesn't matter." I said playing with my pencil.

"Luke," she said and I looked over at her. "If there's anything you need, I'll be there okay?" she smiled and I nodded but at the same time I almost burst out in laughter.

I had a feeling that this was her way of hitting on me. She didn't know I was gay though... no, she didn't. The teacher soon came in and I almost groaned in frustration out loud. All I could think of was how beautiful Calum was. A note was soon passed to me.

'What you thinking about?' and I realized it was Layla.

'Nothing I'm daydreaming because I'd rather be at home' I wrote back and gave it to her.

She put it in her purse and continued to listen - or play with her nails or whatever - while I daydreamed about Calum's face. It was so cute and squish able. The bell soon rung and I walked to my second class with Layla talking endlessly about some TV show as I still thought about Calum.

I was soon in my next class and nobody I knew was in it. A guy settled next to me and I could feel his eyes drilling into my soul. I looked back at him and he just continued to stare.

"Um, can I help you?" I asked.

"Yes. Stop looking so hot." He replied.

Oh? Was this guy gay as well?

"Uh--"

"The names Leo. You must be the new boy, am I right?" He asked and I nodded.

Okay, this Leo guy was officially creeping me out. He kept glancing over at me every few seconds and I just stare at the board while thinking of Calum.

Before I knew it, it was lunch time and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I bought some food and sat at the usual table and Calum soon came in with a small smile plastered onto his face. He sat down and ate his food.

"Calum, you know you have to tell me something, right?" I asked.

"I'll tell you tomorrow. It's a huge secret. There's too many people right now." Calum said and I raised a brow.

Michael soon came over with his food and sat down next to Calum. They spoke among themselves as I ate and soon, Ashton came along and sat with me.

"Made any new friends?" Ashton asked.

"Not really, but I met this guy called Leo." I said and Michael and Calum instantly stopped talking and whipped their heads to me and Ashton just stared at me.

"Do not ever talk to him, Luke." Michael said.

"Why?" I asked.

"He's... he's my ex." Calum said quietly.

My eyes widened.

"Shit..." I mumbled.

"What?" Ashton asked.

"He tried hitting on me." I said and explained what happened.

"Just don't you ever go near him," Calum said.

"I never want to see his pathetic ass face ever again." Calum added.

Damn, Calum must really hate this guy. I really wanted to know what happened but I didn't want to be rude.
