What We Could Be // cake

Chapter 13

Luke's POV.

I have to say, I was really annoyed when drunk Ashton interrupted Calum and I's 'moment' but he luckily redeemed himself. I was currently in bed, cuddled up to Calum. My mom actually let him sleep over which is really kind. His arm was around my waist and he was snoring gently.

We did get Ashton home but he made us stay because he wanted to play 'banana wars' and gave us both a banana and started to shoot us. We brought him up to his bedroom and he said 'bed' before laying down and instantly snoring loudly.

Anyway, it was probably 11am right now and Ashton wouldn't wake up until probably 1pm. I wanted to make sure he was alright and once Calum woke up, we would go to Ashton's house.

Michael ended up going home with one of his sober friends as well. I patiently waited for Calum to wake up and ended up spinning around. He unconsciously pulled me closer and put his head on top of mine.

Okay, this was gonna be a lot harder than I thought. I didn't want to wake him up but... I really needed to pee. Like, really bad. I slowly pushed away from Calum and he kept pulling me closer. I bit my lip and pushed away and suddenly fell of my bed with a loud thud.

Calum instantly sat up and looked down at me.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I just needed to go to the bathroom." I said and awkwardly walked into the bathroom.

I cringed at the way I woke him up, usually, people would cutely wake up looking at them and smiling, but me? No, I'm just the most awkward person on earth. It just had to be me. I flushed the toilet and walked outside to see Calum on his phone. I got back into bed next to him and he put his phone aside and rolled on top of me and put his nose on mine.

Once again, we were interrupted by a knock on our door.

"Luke, Calum! Come have breakfast!" She shouted.

We both put on random shirts and walked downstairs. Ben and Jack were on their phones at the table and Calum and I sat down. Mom put cereal in front of us and glared at Calum before walking away. I feel like she was becoming a little softer with Calum which made me happy. Once she was fully soft was the part where I had to tell her I'm gay.

I ate and Calum happily ate away at his food as well. As we were eating, I could fell Ben and Jack's eyes on us. I looked up at them and they both looked away, but Ben was smirking. I shook it off and continued to eat until I remembered we had to check on Ashton.

Calum and I got fully changed and I told mom that we had to go check on Ashton. Calum luckily knew where he lived and we sore to his house. Calum just opened the door and we saw him curled in a ball on his bed.

"Holy shit, are you okay Ashton?" Calum asked.

"I'm never drinking again." He said and quickly got up and ran to the bathroom.

He soon came back into the bedroom and lay back.

"I'll get you some water." Calum said and ran downstairs.

"Do you remember anything?" I asked kneeling down next to him.

Ashton shook his head and winced in pain. I almost burst out laughing at the memories of what drunk Ashton did last night.

"Why are you smiling?" Ashton asked.

"I just remember what you did last night." I laughed and Calum came back up and Ashton sipped on his water.

"What did I do?" he asked.

I looked up at Calum and he grinned at me.

"You called me a model." I said and Calum and I burst out laughing.
