Amys Pov

Three days have passed now and I was finally discharged from the hospital. Shadow and Rouge came by every day. Having them there made me feel a lot better.

Cream, Silver, Blaze, and Tails all called to check on me and said that they had a surprise for when I got out of the hospital. Knuckles even told Rouge to tell me that he hopes I get better. I appreciate all of them so much. Having all of their kind words made recovering way easier.

Within those three days, my nightmares have become less severe. I still get them but I'm able to fall back asleep whereas before there was no way I could even close my eyes without thinking about them. I guess maybe because they are replaying the same scenario of that night that my brain is slowly getting used to it.

But something new is happening at the end of them. I had noticed this a few times before but it is happening more frequently. Every time Sonic proposes I turn to see Shadow. He is always the only one in the room not laughing or sitting uncomfortably as the scenario plays out. He stares at me with a look of sympathy. That's always what happens before I wake up from the dream.

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean or why it is happening so continuously now. I just wish these dreams would stop altogether so that I could have one more weight off of my shoulders.

Still, things have gotten better.

I open the door to my flower shop and feel a wave of energy. This place hasn't been open for a while, so I know that there is going to be a lot of work to do. I'll have to give a few discounts for the inconvenience as well.

Though I know that there is much work ahead of me I can't help but feel happy. This is the one place on the planet where I forget about all my worries and stress. I poured my heart and soul into buying my own flower shop from when I was young, and now I finally get to see it become my reality. There are many things that haven't gone my way in life but this is one I'm truly grateful to have.

I get to work sweeping the floors and whipping down the counters. I make sure the plants that I have around the shop for decor are watered and fed before heading to my workspace in the back.

When I get back there I realize what a mess it is. Flower pots and vases aren't in their normal places on the shelves, raffia ribbon pieces are scattered all over the floor and my workstation. There are even traces of dirt throughout the place.

I want to at least try and be shocked at the mess but can't. My state of mind hasn't been the best and I'm the type of person whose headspace is always reflected by their personal space. I'm not really proud of it, but it's true. That's why I try and keep an optimistic outlook at most times, but that hasn't been working very well lately.

It's ok though. I'll just stay late tonight and fix it all up. But for now, I need to get to work on these upcoming orders.

I open the drawer of my workstation and take out the list of orders that I need to complete. I'm relieved to see that all of these are due by the start and middle of next week. All except one that's due in... THREE HOURS!!!

Ok, Amy calm down. Three hours is enough time if you use it right.

This customer just wants a red rose assortment. That should be simple enough. I check over what details and specifications they left on the order,

Occasion: Date proposal

Arrangement type: Elliptical

Flower types: Red roses and white roses(whatever else looks good)

If I get started now I should be able to finish up 30 minutes before the customer arrives.

I get to work right away sorting the flowers. I base the arrangement by starting with three red roses in the middle. I then go around those with some white roses a little lower than the red ones to create a layered effect. I take some more red roses and do the same beneath the white ones. Lastly, I take some white filler flowers and place them throughout the arrangement for an extra touch. That's it for the flowers so I tie the stems together at the bottom and then start wrapping them. I think to use lavender wrapping paper at first but decide to use clear so there is no attention taken away from the flowers. When asking a girl on a date with flowers you always want her to see how much detail the flowers have, it will make her feel more appreciation for the gesture.

Once I finish up with all of that it is almost time for the customer to come pick up their order. I begin cleaning up and checking the arrangement over for any last-minute fixes. Once I'm satisfied with my work I head to the front of the shop and place the flowers on the front desk.

I find myself becoming excited. I usually get excited right before someone comes to pick up their order. It always feels so good to see the happy look on their face when they receive what they asked for.

I check the clock on the wall and it is 2 minutes to 12. The customer should be walking in any minute now. Waiting patiently behind the desk I eye the door. I know they will be here soon because usually when a person specifies a time and not the day they have some sort of time-sensitive event to get to.

The clock strikes 12 and I see no sign of anyone coming in yet. People walk past on the sidewalk but no one comes into the store.

I decide that they may end up being a few minutes late so I turn to bring the flowers to the back again so that they can stay fresh, but just as soon I turn around the bell on the store door jingles. I turn back around to see a purple hedgehog. He has icy blue eyes and a very nice smile I may add.

"Hi, I'm here to pick up an order for Toni." He says while showing off his pearly whites.

He's handsome. Whatever girl he's getting these flowers for must be special. Most guys would just go pick some up from the grocery store. It's sweet that he took the extra time and money to order an arrangement.

"Oh, hi Toni. Your order is right here." I say holding the flowers for him to get a look at them.

"Wow, these look amazing. You're even better than everyone says." His eyes widen slightly before he looks up at me with an approving nod of his head.

"Thank you." I smile, placing the flowers back on the counter and preparing for our transaction.

"How much do I owe you, Miss," His eyes move to my name tag, "Amy." He ends.

I tell him the price and he hands me his card to swipe.

"You really did a great job with this place, Ms. Amy." He turns to look around the shop, his hands pushed into the pockets of his blue jeans. His eyes wander to all the decorations in the shop nodding and complementing what he sees.

"Well, I try." I take my eyes off him and swipe the card, "Can you put your pin please sir."

"Of course," He replies now standing over the counter again and typing his pin into the payment terminal. The transaction goes through and shows a check confirming that it's approved.

I hand Toni his flowers and expect him to say his goodbyes and exit the shop. Instead, he looks at me and says,

"You know Ms. Amy, you are quite beautiful yourself." His blue eyes move across my face and it makes my cheeks go hot. I've had guys compliment me before but this one has my heart racing.

"Um...t-thank you." I stutter. I move my eyes down to the bouquet of flowers in his hands and become confused.

Aren't those flowers supposed to be for a girl he likes?

He continues to flash his perfect smile at me but I am no longer amused.

This guy's a total player.

"Well, sir if that is all have a nice day," I say tossing him a phony smile. He visibly looks confused, like he was expecting me to give him more of a reaction than that but I don't.

He soon bounces back and just returns to a smile.

"Ok Ms. Rose, thank you. I'll be sure to come here if I ever need an arrangement again."

Don't even bother.

Moments later he's out the door and I get back to work.

"Men." I sigh.

A/N: So now that he's come up in two chapters you may all be wondering who Toni is. Don't worry you'll find out as the story progresses. Anyways, I hope that you are all enjoying the story thus far. I haven't really interacted much with people yet in this book so I would like this to be my first little hello. But, like I said I hope everyone is enjoying the story. Don't forget to vote and comment! Especially if you have any ideas! Bye guys:)
