Shadows POV

"Are you finished yet?" I let out an exasperated breath.

I sit in Amy's living room. Waiting. Today's the day of the party and since we're going together I'm driving us there.

I had finished getting ready early and thought I'd head over here to pick her up. She wasn't ready but I told her I'd wait since I have nothing better to do anyways.

I'm starting to regret that choice. The party started almost an hour ago and I'm still waiting.

"Almost done." She yells back.

"How long is almost?"

"Why do you have to ask so many questions? If you were just going to bother me you shouldn't have come so early." She sounds annoyed.

She has the nerve.

"What kind of person is late to their own party?"

"This kind of person!"

About ten more minutes pass, and I'm just about to call out to her again, but her room door cracks open. I'm annoyed and itching to leave but I forget about all of my frustration when I see her.

Her quills are pressed straight and her bangs as usual hang in front of her eyes. She wears a form-fitting red dress with a slit in her thigh area. It hugs her curves in all of the right places(not that I care...) Her red heels allow her a few more inches of height and show off her legs as well.

My eyes trail back up to her face and meet with her green jewels. They glisten even in the dim lighting of the living room.

My breath is stuck. I can't seem to look away from her. The world feels like it's moving in slow motion.

"How do I look?" She smiles and does a little twirl.

Beautiful. It's at the tip of my tongue. I want to say it. I feel that I need to say it.

But, I don't.

"You look good." I nod appreciatively.

"Thank you." She cutely tilts her head to the side as she says this, and her hair falls with the action.

Every little move she makes entrances me.

I'm feeling similar to how I did the day we cleaned her room together. I admit that it was a bit awkward to have her fall on me like that. I would've usually said something snarky, but I couldn't. When my eyes made contact with hers I couldn't look away.

It was as if something was drawing me toward her. Like my senses were stripped from me, and all that was left was a pink hedgehog and glowing green eyes.

"You ready to leave?" She asks, allowing me to exit my mind back into reality.

"Clearly. I've been waiting forever." I sigh but she knows I'm not actually mad at her.

"Don't start."

We walk out of the house. It's dark out already and cold as hell. It doesn't seem to phase Amy much even though she has no jacket on.

"Do you want to stop back in and get a sweater?" I ask.

"No way. If I go back in I might just stay home." She roughly shakes her head at my words.

I raise a brow.

"I'm kind of nervous about tonight. I have a really bad feeling. If I go inside I don't know if I'll come back out." She looks embarrassed as she says this. She probably feels like I think she's being irrational.
