Amys Pov

I'm awoken by a pretty loud bang. It made my heart jump. When I sit up in bed my eyes dart around my room but I don't see anything out of place. I'm confused until I remember that I wasn't the only one in the house last night.

"Shadow." I rush out of bed and to the guest room.

I don't know exactly what I was expecting to see. Maybe a burglar got in and they decided to go for him first. If that's the case I know he can take care of himself but he was asleep so what if he doesn't even notice the intruder. In my head, I had already put a scene like this together, but what I ran into was far from what my vivid imagination had put together. What I ran into was a lot more...funny...

The second I lay eyes on Shadow I bust out laughing. He's on the floor struggling to get out of the sheets that had somehow wrapped themselves around him. He probably panicked and trapped himself even more.

"What happened?" I try to stop myself, but the laugh just won't cease.

He finally looks up at me, finally realizing that I was there. His eyes go wide and his face gets bright red.

I know I'm getting too close if Shadow blushes in front of me as much as he has. 

"What do you think happened...I fell." He averts his eyes and continues trying to get himself out of the sheets while also trying not to sound embarrassed. It's not his finest work, but it'll do.

I walk over finally calming my laugh and lean down to help the black hedgehog. He looks my way before averting his eyes and grumbling.

"I don't need your help."

"Oh stop it, if you didn't need help you would've been free by now dumb ass." He opens his mouth to debate with me but quickly realizes I'm right and shuts it.

I begin untangling the sheet from around him and in less than a minute he's free.

"See. Was that so bad?"

"I could've done it myself." He scoffs at me.

"You ungrateful idiot. I should've left you for dead." I playfully shake my head disapprovingly at him.

"I wasn't going to die. I was stuck. There's a difference, and no one asked you to come sticking your nose in the room." He's still embarrassed. I can see it on his awkwardly red face.

"I heard a bang." I shrug.

"Could've been anything."

"Well, it wasn't just anything. It was you, and I'm happy that I came and checked on you. What if you had gotten hurt or something? I would've been really worried about you and..." I soon realize that I'm saying way too much and quickly close my mouth.

Shadow gets this smug smirk on his face that I know all too well.

Aw hell.

"You worry about me?" He mocks me by acting surprised by my words. It could've been believable if that annoying smirk didn't return moments later.

"I-I didn't-" This time, I'm the one whose face goes red and I'm sure that it's a lot reader than his was.

"I hate you." I hiss at him before slamming the door behind me.

"The feeling's mutual!" I hear him shout through the door.

"Shove it!"

....

"Breakfast is ready," I call to Shadow who was waiting in the living room watching tv. After our little conversation, I began preparing breakfast and he had come out of the room to watch some tv. Any time he comes over he always sits right down in front of the tv and turns on some weird sci-fi show. Yet another thing I didn't expect from him. I thought he would be into something more boring, like the news.
