Olivia's POV:

I sit down at one of the empty stools behind Sydney and some other girl, placing my AP Biology book on the desk and flip open my binder.

"Hey I'm Alli—oh." I turn my head and see Allison barely place her things down as she sat down on the stool beside me.

Oh crap.

"Hey..." I awkwardly trail off. "I didn't know you were taking AP Biology."

"Needed my GPA to go up." She chuckled softly. "How about you?"

"If I want to become involved in the medical field like my mom, I sorta need this class." I admit and her eyes slightly widen.

"Wow that's...that's cool." She says with a small smile. "You never told me about taking interest in that field."

"Allison did you—" The girl next to Sydney turns around in her spot, my eyes widening in shock once I realized it was Lydia. "Olivia? You're in this class?"

"Surprise?" I awkwardly smile.

"Huh...senior year is definitely going to be weird if you and Scott are both taking AP." Lydia said as she discreetly pointed to the desk next to her, showing that Scott was barely opening his textbook that was filled with various tabs and highlighted paragraphs along with a notebook next to it while Kira had her eyes widened in shock. "Let's just hope you guys don't have a repeat of last year."

"Thanks for the reminder." I say and look back to my notebook.

"Hey, things can change over the summer." I hear Allison say to her. "Besides, they know what they're doing now from what I could tell so I doubt they'll struggle."

"Alright." Lydia muttered before turning to face forward.

"Thanks." I whisper and Allison gave a warm smile.

"I got your back and you have mine, remember?" She playfully nudged my side. "Like old times."

"Sorta" I awkwardly chuckle before looking back to my notebook. Would it be messed up if I switched spots?

"Welcome to AP Biology!" Mrs. Finch announced as she confidently walked inside the classroom. "Can somebody tell me what plasmids are?"

"Circular self-replicating DNA molecules often used in clinical proteins." Lydia answered without hesitation.

"Nicely stated, Lydia." Mrs. Finch complimented. "Now, can you tell me what vitamin is absorbed in the stomach via parietal cell production of a glycoprotein?"

"Uh..." Lydia trailed off but I raise my hand.

"B-12, Miss." I answer and Mrs. Finch nods her head.

"Correct." She spoke before turning her head to Scott. "Mr. McCall," She called which causes him to look up. "did you know the answer?"

"Um, no." He shook his head.

"It's a common test question," She informed. "What's your number one college pick?"

"Um—"

"Um—"
