Since I wanted to get a better look at the club, I made my way over to the bar but see Hayden in a somewhat argument with the shirtless bartender.
"You remember I have to pay for these out of my own pocket, right?" Hayden scoffed as the guy took one of the blue illuminated shots from the platter and downed the liquid.
"Yep." He answered before he reached for the vial and took another shot.

"Yeah, that's great Phil." She remarked. "You just stay back there getting drunk as usual."
Phil held his hand out. "Steady as a rock."
I shake my head with disbelief but instead of making some sort of remark back, I let out an exaggerated fake yawn, knocking over what seemed like a very expensive bottle, causing it to shatter next to Phil.
His eyes widen in shock but I pretend to look around, acting as if it wasn't me. "What the hell! That's a two-hundred-dollar bottle!"
I turn to face them and force a shocked expression. "Oh man, that sucks. Isn't it a bummer that it comes out of your pocket?"
He lets out a groan before he crouches down to clean up the shattered glass.
Hayden held a small smile as we both continued to walk around. "You know, he would've kicked you out if he found out it was you."
I scratch the back of my neck nervously. "Yeah, I was playing it by chance." I say and gesture to her. "He was being mean to you so I had to do something."
"As much as I enjoyed seeing his annoyed state," Her eyes look down to the vials of shots. "I'm never going to make enough."
"How much are they?"
"Ten dollars each." She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Why?"
I pull out my phone and take off the case, pulling out the twenty-dollar bill from inside and hand it to her. "Here."
Her eyes widen slightly. "Wait--"
I place the bill on her tray and grab two shots from the holder. "It's okay. With how Phil was treating you, I can tell this isn't the first time he's done that." She stays silent which practically confirmed my answer. "Believe me when I tell you that I want us to be friends. Friends help each other out, right?" I offer her the shot and she cocks her head to the side.
"I can't get drunk at work, Jimenez." She teased but I shrugged.
"Phil took two and he seemed fine." I say and she rolls her eyes before taking the shot from my hand. "Cheers." I say as we tapped our glasses together before I down the shot, feeling the liquid momentarily burn my throat.
"Definitely needed that." Hayden cleared her throat but I blink a couple of times, hearing a small buzz ring in my ears. "Looks like the drink hit faster than you thought, huh?"
