Phoebe's POV:

Two of the Dread Doctors finally took off the straps from Hayden and I then thankfully drop us on the floor next to each other.

However, they made sure to keep the tube inside my arm and I felt like my body was close to giving out with how much they pumped into my system.

Hayden lets out pained groans as she clutched on her side and I force myself to scoot closer to her. "Hayden? This might be a stupid question but are you okay?"

"It hurts." She panted and my eyes trail to her exposed side, seeing the dried black blood that coated her abdomen. It was still bleeding but not as severely as before. She groans out in pain once more but an idea popped in my head.

"Wait, they mentioned something about how I absorbed a healing ability from a Phoenix." I say and her eyes widen slightly. "There's something that Olivia does. She can heal wounds where it's like it was never in the first place. I-I've never done it before, but I can try."

She nods with a small smile and I place my hand over her side, causing her to wince once it made contact.

I shut my eyes, trying to focus whatever was inside me to heal the wound but felt absolutely nothing. Not even a spark.

I move my hand away and Hayden lets out a grunt as she covered her side again with her hand.

"I'm sorry." I whisper but she scooted closer to me.

"Why are they doing this to us?" Hayden softly asked as she wiped the beads of sweat that trickled down the side of her face.

"I wish I could tell you." I answer, feeling helpless since I couldn't ease her pain. "All I care about is to make sure they don't declare you as a failure."

I feel her hand brush against mine until she slips her fingers through before giving it a small squeeze.

Olivia's POV:

"Phoebe!" I shout as Allison drove her car through the preserve, following behind Liam as he ran through the woods. "Hayden!"

Suddenly, a roar echoes in the night sky which causes Liam to abruptly make a different turn. I recognized the route he was heading to, remembering that this was the spot we held Jackson captive so he wouldn't escape as the Kanima.

"Haven't been here in a while." Allison broke the silence as she briefly glanced at me. "Have you?"

With Tracy. "Maybe like once." I muttered, not really in the mood to talk.

Once Liam sees Scott on his knees as he looked out to Beacon Hills, Allison parks the car and we both get out as Malia arrives not too long after.

The four of us cautiously approach Scott from behind until Liam is the first to crouch down to his level with his hand on his shoulder.

"There's no scent." Scott panted. "No tracks. No way to find 'em."

"If what Ms. Flores says about Phoebe being a chimera is true, can't she or Hayden howl back?" Liam curiously asked.

"Only if they're half werewolves." Malia deadpanned.

I crossed my arms. "Or if they heard him."

My phone buzzes in my pocket again and I let out a sigh, knowing every time I get a phone call it definitely wasn't good.

I reluctantly pull it out of my pocket but to my surprise, see that it was my Dad.

I click answer. "Uh...hey dad?"

"I know this is weird, considering we never called each other before but this is definitely worth a phone call. It's about your friend...Kyra? Skylar? Kairi?"
