Joong
"Joong, looked like, we can't continue filming right now", a crew told me, after reviewing the scene involved and the condition of the weather that was not helping. We chose the location for its' tremendous scenery and the possibility of a very cinematic sequence of action scenes.
"Then the schedule will be delayed? Isn't it costly to recreate again?".
"Yes, but if we continue, there will be a lot of extra safety measures to be taken. And we can't risk your safety as well".
I nodded in understanding and agreement. My manager, P'Tha was called and the crew explained the situation to him. Though unfortunate, since I really didn't favor a condition that would affect the production house, sometimes it did happen, especially with unpredictable weather conditions.
I tried to call Nine, to tell him that I would come back earlier than projected. His phone was left answered by a voice mail. Well, maybe he turned off the phone since this was his day off. He might oversleep, or didn't want to be disturbed. I just shook my head and accepted that my baby was not the sweet type that would call me every day, and I respected his privacy as well. He also only called me after my filming for the day had finished, to not disturb my concentration on the set. If my shooting continued until odd hours, I just messaged him the overtime schedule, and he would wait until I called him back after everything had settled. Our relationship was balance liked that. We talk, on everything and nothing, but also gave each other space. I wouldn't ask it to be any other way.
I asked P'Tha to drop me off directly at Nine's apartment. P'Tha just laughed. This was always the case after each schedule, either I ambushed him at work, or ambushed him at home, but still I needed to see him first every time. By the time I was standing in front of the door, searching for my key to the place, it was already late evening, when the sky was decorated with a mix hue of soft colours.
I opened the door to a silent room. Nine was not in the living room, nor at the kitchen, cooking. The silence almost made me think that he went out somewhere. But, I decided to check the bedroom next, before giving him a call. The closed curtains made the room looked darker, even though it wasn't yet night. But, I could see a figure sleeping on the bed. I smiled immediately and switched on the light. I saw the back of him, sleeping on his side, covered in blanket. Oh! It is quite warm, and the aircond is also off, why does he bundle up such as that?. My heart felt anxious.
As long as we were together, aside from a mild flu, Nine never got badly sick. Maybe his profession made him know how to take care of himself well, or he was just born with good immunity. I approached the bed and slowly turned his bundled-up self to lie on his back, and immediately touched his face. Gosh! Damn hot, liked a burner. How long had he been sick liked this, he didn't even tell me!. His eyes slowly opened with the touch and looking at me, disoriented.
He blinked rapidly, and asked a weird question, "Are you real? Is this another trick on my mind?". I wanted to laugh but couldn't, because he was really asking with such concern in his eyes. I bent down and kissed his forehead, burning cheeks and lips firmly. "How about that, do you feel it is real or not?". He raised his hand and touched my face tentatively. I let him. After that, he released a relieved breath, moved his thick blanket away, and immediately pulled me atop him to hug me tightly. I was surprised, but also relaxed myself, while still making sure I didn't crush that petite sick person with my weight.
We stayed that way for a while, until I felt that his agitation had toned down. I raised my head and supported myself on my arms.
"You should have called me, you stubborn pup! Even if I couldn't leave the filming, I would at least ask P'Tha to check on you", I said, almost reprimanding him liked a child. He pouted.
