We looked at eachother.
"He wants to talk to us after their show!" Eddy whisper yelled.
We were all smiling like crazy. All of a sudden Alex walked up to us. How did she sneak backstage.
"You guys didn't fucking amazing. The crowd loves you." She announced.
"David Draiman said that he wants to talk to us after they go on." Brian said. She congratulated us. She then looked at me. Her smile went away.
"I need to talk to you." She insisted. She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the side.
"What's wrong babe?" I asked.
"Why haven't I ever heard of or met Chris?" She hissed.
"Because I don't like Chris. Chris is scared of so many things, lashes out, gives in easily, and just isn't who I want to be. Who I need to be." I answered.
"Well your dad's out there. He came for the guitarist and never saw him because of that damn makeup." She paused for a second and calmed down. "Give me the mask and go see him."
I began to take off my mask but changed my mind and put it back on.
"No. I'm not Chris anymore. I'm Will. I ran away for a reason. And I don't want to be brought back to my past."
"As I see it, Will Mars is someone who's behind a mask and makeup, who lies about who they really are, and who is willing to break their dad's heart over and over again."
"If that's what it takes."
"Well who ever the fuck you are... You're pathetic."
She then walked out. I went back over to the guys and looked down.
"What happened?" Markus asked.
"I just got kicked in the balls by reality." That's really the best way I could put it. "But I don't want to talk about it right now. We have important things going on."
The three of them all went to the bar since they're all 21. But I couldn't. I wasn't old enough and I didn't want to get in trouble. I decided to walk outside. I sat on the ground next to the door.
About 10 minutes later they came outside too holding their masks. They luckily weren't drunk. Eddy handed me a beer.
"No thank you." I rejected it.
"No, you're gonna need it." Eddy sighed. They sat on the ground against the wall too.
"Disturbed had to leave early. So what we thought was our big break, most likely won't happen." Brian declared.
"Hey guys, is it alright if I talk to Will alone?" Eddy insisted.
"Yeah, it's getting pretty late anyway." Markus said.
"See you at home." Brian added.
Him and Markus walked to their cars to leave. Eddy scooted over closer to me.
"What happened between you and Alex?" He asked.
"Well I never told her that my real name is Chris. And she found out by my dad saying that he's here for the guitarist; Chris. And so she got pissed off, understandable. I refused to go talk to my dad. And she broke up with me." I explained. I looked at my wrist. "And now I got this damn tattoo to remind me."
"Why do you want to basically change your identity anyway?"
"Because Chris is an OCD paranoid freak. Who falls for things and gets hurt too easily. And I left home to escape everything. So I don't want to be him anymore. I want nothing to do with him." I paused for a second. "But Will Mars is outgoing, strong, and just everything Chris isn't. I know it's stupid. But since I renamed myself Will Mars, I've felt like that. And I don't want to not feel like this. David Bowie did something like this. Will Mars is my Ziggy Stardust.
