As soon as she went limp i burst into a sprint, the Tardis was helpful though. She brought the medic bay to me, along with everything i needed. I hooked Alex up to several machines, not really paying attention as the Tardis instructed me. I gave her an injection but i didn't even know what it was. The Tardis knew i was in no state to think, she just gave me everything i needed, ready to go.

Rose hovered by the door as i rushed around the unconscious girl, treating her for everything the Tardis told me too. It was about half an hour before i stopped, standing by her feet, staring down at her. Alex had always been pale, even for a red head, but this, this was different. She looked so sick, so fragile, and there was nothing more i could do.

"Will she be alright?" Rose asked, sounding like she was holding back tears.

"I don't know," i admitted, "I really don't."

Days passed, i couldn't really say how many, but it felt like years in my mind. I didn't leave her bedside, i didn't eat anything Rose brought me and i barely drank the tea. It just reminded me of Alex, and all the nights we sat talking in the console room while Rose and whoever else was on board slept.

Rose kept trying to talk me into getting out, at least getting some sleep, but i couldn't even leave the room for more than ten minutes before i rushed back in checking her stats. The Tardis tried to help me as much as she could, but i must have let my anger get to me and upset her, because she landed us and practically forced Rose and i out.

We were in Paris and i refused to leave the Tardis doors until i realised there was something wrong. I told Alex i was taking her to Paris, but she was in a comatose state and i was going with Rose instead. We became trapped in the Facade, a computer that enhanced people's perception of "Perfect Paris". Alongside resistance fighters, we destroyed the Facade with the use of a computer virus and i rushed right back to Alex's bed side. Nothing had changed, expect maybe a little more colour had returned to her cheeks.

The Tardis then landed on Earth, chasing a Hoix, and Jackie called Rose about some man who'd been looking around for information on us. So i took Rose to give him a good scolding, Alex would have liked that. That was the only reason i bothered. We then visited a rocky, barren planet and watched giant creatures, similar to manta rays in appearance, fly past. Rose told me she wanted to stay with me forever, but i was barely paying attention. Alex had once told me about the time she went swimming with Manta rays and dolphins with her sister.

There was another trip that involved a rock band, and i should have been more excited but i couldn't get Alex out of my mind. There had been no change at all. Rose asked me about the Olympics, so i took her to see what was so good about them - Only to find a young girl playing host to a lone Isolus. By the time i was finished sending it home, i was ready to curl up in the seat by Alex and not come out again. Which was strange, i'd not felt that way in a long, long time. However my mind immediately changed when i stopped by the Medic bay to check on Alex and found her bed empty.

My mind immediately went to the worst possible conclusions, had she died? Had someone taken her? Was she gone? Had she left the Tardis while on Earth and been left behind? I sprinted through the maze of corridors, heading for her room, nearly knocking Rose off her feet. She yelled after me but i ignored her, feeling my hearts pounding harder than ever.

I slammed the door open and stared bewildered at the young red head standing by her bookcase, holding her snow globe with a slight smile. She had changed into relatively revealing clothes, and my eyes wandered over her like it was the first time seeing her. She was back to a healthy colour, her eyes bright and as beautiful as ever, hair curled neatly around her face.
