I took a wander round the lever room as the Doctor and Yvonne spoke, Jackie staying with them. The three workers were typing away but i guessed it was just something to do with their work. I crouched by the levers, having a look at them, then moved over to the blank wall, running my fingers over it. I jumped back of course, when it started to glow white and shielded my eyes, backing away a little more.
“Excuse me? Everyone? I thought I said stop the ghost shift. Who started the programme? But I ordered you to stop! Who's doing that?” Yvonne demanded and behind me, the levers were moving by themselves. “Right, step away from the monitors, everyone. Gareth, Addy, stop what you're doing, right now. Matt, step away from your desk. That's an order! Stop the levers! Andrew!”
I ran for one of the levers while a scientist grabbed another, trying to pull them back into place but it wouldn’t work.
“Stop the levers!”
“Fucking trying!” i snapped, getting annoyed by the woman again. After a moment there was a scream and i turned, seeing the three workers had all collapsed.
“What happened? What did you just do?” Yvonne demanded as i felt my feet sliding across the floor, not being enough to hold the lever in place. I cried out a little as it forced me to my knees, how strong was this?!
“Alex! Jackie, stay here! But get back from those levers now!”
I rushed to Jackie’s side, worried about the Doctor, but he asked me to stay and i didn’t want to leave Jackie alone. So for once, i’d listen to him. The wall grew brighter and more scientists rushed to the levers trying to push them back.
Not too much later a metallic march caught my ear and my blood turned cold, the Doctor and Yvonne were escorted in with their hands behind their heads by a group of Cybermen, who marched closer to the levers.
“Get away from the machines. Do what they say. Don't fight them!” The Doctor ordered but it was too late, the Cybermen had shot them, letting the levers move freely.
“What are they?” Jackie whimpered.
“We are the Cybermen. The Ghost Shift will be increased to one hundred percent,” the Cyberman nearest us announced.
“Online,” The computer announced.
“Here come the ghosts,” the Doctor frowned.
“But these Cybermen, what've they got to do with the ghosts?” Jackie asked, confused.
“Do you never listen? A footprint doesn't look like a boot.”
“Achieving full transfer.” The Cyberman Leader announced.
“They're Cybermen,” i explained to Jackie, as rows upon rowns of Cybermen marched out of the breach, “All of the ghosts are Cybermen. Millions of them, right across the world.”
“They're invading the whole planet,” Yvonne realised.
“It's not an invasion. It's too late for that. It's a victory,” the Doctor told her.
“Sphere activated. Sphere activated. Sphere activated. Sphere activated,” The computer chanted.
“But I don't understand. The Cybermen don't have the technology to build a Void Ship. That's way beyond you. How did you create that sphere?” the Doctor asked, approaching the Cyber leader.
“The sphere is not ours.”
“What?” he asked, confused.
“The sphere broke down the barriers between worlds. We only followed. Its origin is unknown.”
