Fizzled Out

Yesterday evening my boyfriend broke up with me after a year and two months.

We dined,
tried on love
and found it perfectly intact.
A fine sized glove around the
lines of our stomachs to our hearts.
A frenzy tangled up our steps to a
meant to be slow dance to a minimum
tempo song.
We laughed like silly school
children unable to hold in the bubbles
forming in our throats.
Walked hand in hand before the
world took a hit to force one to be unwell.
We took the rain and lows
on a path to grow
better plants to bloom ideals into fruition
in the gardens of our minds.
Matching colours,
hues to breeding weeds
on bones. To tell that not all things are beautiful.
