She hid behind happy
Songs and fake smiles
Walking upon a path to
Nowhere in particular
Feet bare, scarlet in
Tears leaving stains
On a new Gucci shirt
Mixing in with the new
Eyeliner, fancy eyeshadow
All she wanted was a song
To cry to and let her know
It's okay to let yourself open
Up to pain, don't bottle up
Everything inside of you
It'll start to eat up your
Energy, every bit of strength
You hold, dancing to
A beat after beat trying
To lose herself within
A world of colour
When all that was felt
Was blue and grey.
