Riley's POV:
I huddled up in the corner of the room, a thin blanket draped over my shoulders as I shivered from the cold.
5 days I'd been here, and I was beginning to get hungry and I looked a mess. I only ever left the room to go toilet, and was quick so I could try and avoid him.
5 days ago, I was abducted in the middle of the night, after walking out of my parents house after having an argument. And I deeply regret it.
The kidnapper seemed nice, offering me food and drinks. But I would refuse each time, knowing he'd put something in them. He was just trying to be sweet so he could gain my trust.
To be honest, I didn't even know what he looked like. Each time he tried to speak to me, he kept the same mask on that he kidnapped me in.
As if on cue, footsteps started coming up the stairs. I quickly scooted the the other corner of the room, getting into the little gap between the bed and the wall. I wrapped the blanket tighter around me as I heard the door beginning to unlock.
"Riley?" Someone whispered. It wasn't muffled this time, and I was hoping it was someone who had come to help get me out of here. I quietly peeked over the bed and realised.
It was the kidnapper, and he didn't have a mask on this time.
And shit he was hot.
NO RILEY THIS MAN IS PROBABLY A SERIAL KILLER.
"Riley?" He said, a little louder. I heard the panic in his voice and I knew he was gonna go mental if he didn't know where I was.
I made the mistake of letting out a cry, and I quickly covered my mouth and the tears rolled down my cheeks. He came over to where I was and I felt all the tension and anxiety rising up.
"There you are." He said. Again, I didn't make eye contact with him, pressing my knees into my chest.
"Riley, hey. I won't do anything to you. I just need to explain." He said softly, crouching down at the end of the gap.
I slowly looked up, meeting his green eyes. "E-explain?" I whispered, my voice tight and dry.
"Yes, explain. If you can just trust me for a few minutes, I'll tell you everything. And I mean it." He said, backing away a few steps.
"I promise, I won't do anything like you. You can hit me, punch me, kick me all you like. But I just need a chance to explain why you're here."
I didn't answer for a few seconds. He sighed, giving a silent nod and standing up straight, going to the door. "Wait!" I called out. I managed to push myself up off the floor, and the man stared at me. "I trust you." I whispered.
What have I gotten myself into?
