*alyssa*

I took a quick shower and wrapped a towel around my hair and another around body. When I ran back into my room, I practically ripped through my duffel bag looking for something to wear. Honestly, I don't have the best wardrobe but I always make due with what I have.

I decided on wearing dark blue jeans, a plain black v-neck, a black hoodie with my old school's logo, a purple scarf that I stole from Kelsey, and I slid my feet into my beat up, black converse. I didn't have a choice with the shoes. My converse are the only shoes I have.

I took my hair out of the damp towel and brushed it out with my fingers. Since I'm going to be walking around for the day I'll just throw my hair into a messy bun at the top of my head. Which I did.

I looked in the mirror on the opposite wall. Honestly, I didn't look that bad. I could have nicer clothes but I've moved around too much to keep an entire wardrobe and I never had the money.

Fixing myself one more time in the mirror I felt satisfied. I left my room and walked back downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen grabbing something to eat when heard Jack talking in the living room.

"Sorry bro, I can't. If I want to go to Cali for New Years then I have to babysit my stupid foster sister," he paused. "She's seventeen."

He must be talking on the phone. Wait, why is he telling who ever is on the other line my age? I grabbed a banana and continued to listen.

"Don't know. Dude I have no clue. Um, I guess but she's fucking annoying."

Okay, who are you to judge? I have done absolutely nothing to you.

"Good idea. Yeah! I'll see you in a few. K. Bye. Yo, dumb ass! I'm leaving let's go!" He yells the last two sentences.

My blood began to boil as I walked out of the kitchen, "Don't call me that." I said under my breathe.

We both walked out of the house into the crisp, late December air.

"I can call you whatever the hell I want to," he smirked. "Get in the car we're going to my friend's house."

"But I thought Katherine-"

"I don't care. Speak again and I'll tell my mom that you were being a bitch to me when I was 'trying to be nice to you'," he put air quotes around trying to be nice to you.

I stayed quiet not moving.

"Get in the god damn car!" He yelled again.

I got into the passenger seat and buckled my seat belt. Jack started the car and pulled out of the driveway.

We drove for about three minutes in silence and we pulled up to another gorgeous house. It was similar to Jack's but just a little bigger.

Jack parked, "Get out, we're here."

I unbuckled about to open the car door but Jack harshly grabbed my fore arm, "When my mom asks about your day later, say you had the time of your life or I'll make it a living hell."

I nodded my head vigorously and opened the door. Jack lead me up to the front door and opened it. When we entered, there were six boys sitting on the couch all staring at me.

I automatically felt uncomfortable.
