It has been 4 days of mediocre and rushed training, To be honest some of my buddies are not even training they are lounging with the slack (Slack refers to soldiers who suck at doing their job.) officers there are some days that have been completely wasted.
And today we got to clean our uniforms.
The Comfort room of the barracks is called 'The Head.' so I guess Diana's head is full of shit, Get it? Alright I'll stop.
The Comfort room is where you take a shit as a platoon , Wash up as a platoon and you guessed it wash your laundry together.
I was soaping my brand new uniform. My pants are Gorka camouflage patterned, My top is a polo shirt that has a red and black checkered pattern.
It looks good but holy shit. It's becoming clear to me that they don't give much resources to their conscripts.
We were all squatting down and each of us are provided small basins with water, Well the water in mine is so cloudy from the amount of soap I used.
"Harakov can I burrow that Archie thing?" Sokolov asked
"Sorry bro first come first serve!" I replied as I scrub the polo with a bar soap.
Harakov smirking said "Sorry Soko but Dan goes first."
"Come on dude!"
Then we hear the door behind us open, Yep. Its the Lieutenant herself
"Comrades who are the renegades?!" Diana asked
We memorized that so..
"The Renegades are the strongest faction in the Moscow ruins!" We all shouted in unison "They serve the people and save the people! They are known for their out standing bravery and their courage they leave no man behind!"
"Who are you then?!" She shouted and smiled
"We are scumbags and worthless carcasses of the renegade!" We said in unison we took a quick breather and continued "We are shame to Airen Troujillo! He wanted to be part of the navy! We are part of the useless and stupid squad we are also shame to you Diana!"
"Carry on you shit pebbles!" She continued and walked away
"Who is Airen any way?" Sokolov asked
"I dont know I bet he was a great man! I hope he reached the navy!" I said and smiled
"I have a collection of his poems I loved Civil unrest!!" Harakov told us
"Really?" I said
"It was my ambition to become a teacher, But I got drafted." He replied and tried to laugh it of. I can slightly feel his sadness.
We fell silent, I wipe my hand with a dry cloth and pat his shoulder.
"We will make it through this I-I know it!" Sokolov said cheerily with a genuine smile of hope.
"Damn right" Harakov finished and dip his dirty pants in the water.
After cleaning we went to do some dreaded and feared..Sand bag duty.
We were drenched at the sun for hours, Holding that shovel and making bags for endless hours is horrible some of us even try to sneak in two or three bags just to thin out the pile.
"Done! We are finished now we can finally get back and rest!" One of our friends shouted and stretch his arms.
"Yeah! Anyone up for some ice cold Kvass?!" Sokolov asked and planted the shovel in the ground.
