MELTDOWN 2: CONDEMNED HEROES

We crossed over Stalker territory after a few more kilometers we finally reached the cross roads. In the left it was a road going to the Renegades at the right road its the Reds (USRR). The cross roads had vehicles scattered and vines slowly choke the life of buildings. The place was abandoned for some reason. Then the sun begun to set at the hills it was a beautiful sight the sun was red then darkness covered the wasteland

Natalia then said "Danielle Were going to USRR lands are you sure you don't have any second thoughts if you do this is the time to turn." I smiled and replied "I made my choice lets keep moving." She nodded and we kept on moving it was dark but it did not mean i was ready for this i had flash lights on the ready.

There were mutants that passed by us but they did not intend to harm us they must have recently consumed a prey. As we walked by the abandoned area of the city, In the streets ahead we see lights. There were also many vehicles that passed by us they looked like merchants then we had to walk up to a hill, After a few minutes at last we arrived. I saw a giant fortress it actually had concrete walls!! There were Junkies patrolling the area for any bandits they also search the cargo.

"What is this place?" I asked in amazement. Natalia then said "Well this is the Citadel" Well it was a fitting name there is a giant palace in the middle surrounded by smaller buildings and shacks.

Then Natalia put her hood up covering her face I was surprised and i said "Hey! I thought this is your home turf!" She smiled and said "Well i just want to see their faces when they see me appear out of thin air" I then replied "You girls are cheeky bastards." She giggled we soon took the path to the main gate there are buildings around the gate but the gate is made out of metal wires and fences there are soldiers watching our every move in the rooftops and they heavily fortified it with heavy machine gun emplacements. Then we had to line up along with other people to have our items checked. I mean they know there are adventurers armed but they are looking for I.E.D's (Improvised Explosive Device) and Drugs.

Then it was our turn the guard then asked "Sir,May i check your bag?" I nodded i placed my bag on inspection they did not find anything suspicious, Then the guard slowly lean on me and said quietly "Hey kid who is that woman behind you?" I looked behind Natalia was hooded down only her mouth can be seen she had a really pretty grin i guess the guard was suspicious to keep up Natalia's crazy idea i whispered back "She is my traveling companion sir." The guard was about to say a word until Natalia stepped forward and said "Silly fool you know me." The guards around were really freaked out they were ready to shoot and they were sweating hard. She then started to laugh she then stood still as if she has pure authority. She then lifts up her hood her hair gracefully falls down revealing her to be no other than Natalia Stravnisky.

The entire guard detail was shocked and stunned. Natalia is one cheeky bastard she loves seeing people stunned. Since she is the daughter of the founder of the USRR they kneel before her to show respect their bow was so low that their faces are touching the ground she then said "Rise" They all went back to their feet and gave her a solid salute. Then the guard said "Lady Natalia i must contact HQ for this ground breaking news that you have safely returned."

She then said "Granted. But i request an luxury armored carrier to be brought ASAP." The soldier replied "Yes my lady." Then they turned on the radio

"HQ this is night watch!"

"This is HQ send your message"

"You wont belive this!! Natalia has arrived safely!"

"Are you sure?!" The radio man paused "Well we are sending escorts!"

The radio man then said "Comrade Vlad would be very pleased."

"Thank you sir." The soldier then placed the radio down. Then in..I fucking swear its actually two fucking seconds! They sent an entire detatchment..No its an understatement it seems like they sent their entire army just to see her safe being!! Then an armored Limo rolled in the side one soldier opened the door for her. She went inside the vehicle i was about to join in until the soldier looked at me with a fiery attitude "Hey! Who the fuck are you?!"

Natalia shouted "Hey you Fucking Numb skull he is my companion show respect!!" The soldier was ashamed and said "Sorry Lady Natalia i did not know." He looked at me and said "Sorry i did not know.."

I smiled and said "Hey its alright." I then stepped inside and sat at the back seat i have to say the windows of the car is tainted black and the seat is so comfortable!! Then the driver then drove off then a sudden cool burst of air erupted from the Aircon well its the only working Aircon in the wasteland! Every twist and turn i see soldiers everywhere they are cutting of the roads so we can pass through without delay a Hind helicopter circles around us to provide protection. Then we were in the inner walls. I saw soldiers everywhere in the street they are lined up in perfect lines then the commader shouted "FIRE!!!" The soldiers fired a volley of rounds in the air to show respect.

Then a BMP parked at the side and troops spilled out providing protection and order in the streets since many civilians are eager to see her. Then we reached the palace i saw a giant steel gate they opened it infront of us.Then we parked at the side of citadel palace. This must be Natalia's house!! Her house is so big her place even had a working fountain! In her place Communist flags and colors fly in the pillars and on top of her house i saw a giant hammer and sickle constructed on steel to show the symbol of the Communist regime.

As we parked at the side the driver left the car and opened the door for Natalia and me. There i saw a man who is in his..60's He ran to Natalia and embraced her "Oh. Natalia my daughter where have you been?! Where you hurt?! I promise to destroy those Unity scum!!" Well this guy must be Vladislav.

Natalia then said "Hush dad I'm alright and alive." Then her father's attention turned to me he looked furious "Who are you then?!" He shouted. I was too scared to answer the old man. "Dad this man saved me during my capture he escorted me he was a former Renegade soldier he is willing to join the USRR he wants to join to devote his life for our cause." Vlad then hushed her daughter and said "Please rest i know it was a long journey." Natalia nodded and walked inside the giant palace. I was about to make one step until her Father blocked me and said "I will be watching you..Ivanov" Man this guy is fucking scary!! How did he become the leader of the USRR?!

After that i entered the palace..And wow! The place was beautiful the floor was so shiny i can see my face there are guards wearing beautiful red coats they and fur hats they carry the SKS rifle that looks so shiny as if they floor waxed the wood of the gun. They were standing still as statues and the place had beautiful art works hung on the walls.

"Are you Ivanov?" I heard a voice of a woman. She was wearing a maid outfit "Are you Danielle Ivanov?" I nodded. She said "Your room leads here." She lead me to my room and I'm amazed the room was really big and fancy carpets and furniture's!! I dived face first in the bed and its so soft. I have no regret joining the USRR!! Since the bed was so soft i quickly fell asleep. Darkness falls another day.
