Chapter #6 Your Letters warm me up.

I was limping towards any structure I was trying my best to hold the pressure of my bleeding left arm "Gaahhh!!" I fell on my knees when a sudden sharp pain came! God It hurts!! My Gas mask was broken It was hard to breathe.. My lungs felt difficulty expanding!!

The rain was blowing hard. Dead Mutants litter the ground, then I saw the man I tried to save he lay there in a pool of blood. Wait! He has a Gas mask!! So I removed my mask and exhale then I placed his mask over my face. Plus the filter of the mask felt like its about to expire.

"Stop who goes there!!" A voice in the smoke echo. So instinctively I put my hands up and shout "I'M USRR DON'T SHOOT I'M HURT!!!" I was at the brink of losing conciseness. I felt really cold from both the rain and lack of blood

"Don't Move!!" The voice drew closer..I was surrounded in smoke. I was looking around tracking the sound while not making any sudden movements, Then out of the smoke I saw Edgar! His Gas mask and his load out looked familiar and calmed my nerves.

He came close and offered me a fresh gas mask filter "Danielle where is Xander?!" Edgar shouted. I then inserted the filter I did not say anything...It's too much....after 2 minutes of silence he then said "Ooh..I see.He is dead let's talk about it later!"

"Danielle I'm gonna lift you up! Are you ready?!" He asked. I then said "Yeah." He then lifted me which hurts!! "Gaaahhh!!!" I scream in pain as he Carried me away from the combat zone. We passed by bleeding carcases of Unity soldiers. I saw melee weapons scattered around as if they did some crazy suicidal charge.

Then Edgar placed me down in a decaying shack. He then placed my AKMS at my chest and said

"Shoot any Unity bastards you see and protect Angela got it?!" I then nodded and he soon charged the raging rain. And disappeared in the fog.

"H-Hell cat this..*Cough!*..Is..44th" Angela's said in the radio. She was behind me

"44th what the hell happened there priyom/over?!"

"The...Unity..Fucking!!" She then started to cough even more.I then crawl towards her

"WHO GOES THERE?!" She then draw out her pistol. I raised my right arm "It's me Danielle!!"

"What's your status 44th?!"

"The place..Is clear move the battalion...Many of us got wiped.." She said with difficulty. She looked like a total mess her leg had it's bones almost exposed and her right eye was covered by a bloody bandage. And around her are dying Penal and Conscript soldiers

"Affirmative." The radio man replied to Angela

"My Leg..." A conscript mummers as he bleeds.

I looked back into the rain..I crawl towards the door way aiming my gun at anything that will come close..Just like a war time novelty, The fog of war is so thick you cant see anything as far as..hmm..10 meters is a fair estimate.

Every passing minute. I'm starting to lose my consciousness I'm losing far too much blood..My skin is sporting a pale color and It's absolutely hard to blink...My hands are shivering in the pain and cold I cant hold my gun straight..I'm not even sure if I can hit them..

Then I saw Edgar along with other surviving Penal and Conscripts..One of them was Fyodor and Gavrill they were with him rescuing the dying soldiers in the ground.

"Good job Danielle! Keep your eyes open and watch for anything." Fyodor said as he pass by me and put down the injured.

The Rain has stopped..The fog cleared and that just made the scenery more worse. The place was shot up to hell and that was only a few minutes!! And in a few minutes the place was littered with bodies and bullet casings smoke was rising from the spot where Xander was attacked..We were waiting for the battalion to move up.
