Chapter #16 Burns.

We had fun with the Lamborghini. We were able to travel that extra mile until..

I was standing in the seat on the look out for any Unity patrols. We were driving at moderate speed. I see a bridge. Ah i know this place we are at the yellow zone in the swamps. Sadly we could not cross the bridge for it was destroyed. The place used to be a river now its a swamp seperating the red and green zone.

"Natalia" I told her "We aren't going any where with the car we need to discard it."

She was disappointed "Are you sure?" She asked "Is there any other way around the swamp?"

I covered the top of my eyes to shield the sun..As far as i could see the water was high enough to drown the car.

"Nyet (No)" I told her "Our Car cant do shit."

She slammed her hand at the steering wheel "I will miss you.." She whispered silently to the Lamborghini.

"Check the back of the car." I told her "Usually people keep stuff in there."

She went behind the car and carried some sort of an ammo box. She placed it at the ground "Damn this is heavy. Chances are something is inside."

It was locked i did not know how to lock pick i told her "Stand back."

"What?" She asked i aimed the gun at the lock "OH SHI!!"

i pulled the trigger and the bullet ricochet on the left hitting the tree.I lifted the ammo can and i saw Stamps (Waste land money) inside. Lots of it

"That's my retirement fund right there." I dipped my hand inside and lifted it slowly.

"Lets go!" She told me. I closed the box and placed it inside my Backpack.

She stepped into the marshy lands..I went down along with her as i stepped down i saw thick patch of trees my fight or flight mode switched on..I remembered what happened to me as a child. When i went to a hunting trip with my buddies, I started to move back and lifted my RPK. I was terrified what might be lurking around the corner.

"Hey Danielle you alright?" She asked

"Th-This reminds me of something." I told her i was shaking in fear. I could kill anyone in my path but I'm afraid of mutants. Ugh! Those slimy and ugly creatures. "I'm afraid of Mutants did you-" The bush moved "GAH!" I aimed to the direction of the movement. And saw a little fox run away.

Natalia busted to laughter "Danielle you are not the type of guy i was expecting."

I looked at her with shame "Lets go."

A walk in the swamp was horrible i swear. You see cars,trash,etc floating in the surface. And if you look below your feet its pure darkness you cant see what you are stepping at..

Soon i saw something slip..Deep inside the water at the corner of my eye. I looked at that direction my hands were shaking the weight of my RPK and the mounting fear makes one's arms tremble.

"Natalia i saw" I gulped "Something went down the water."

She looked back at me "Danielle are you-" Before she can finish a Creature went out of the water the monster had mandible jaws that can stretch it had blades for arms and worst of all it looked like a Mermaid that was absolutely ugly words cant describe. It obviously wants a snack!

"GAAHHH!!" I fell on my back i was wet. I lost my RPK! "FUCK!"

Natalia opened fire injuring the body of the creature it let out a roar and placed its arms in front of its body to protect it from any projectiles. "I'M SWITCHING MAGS!!" Natalia opens her pouch to insert a fresh mag on her AK. Then another one pops out! Two of them!
