Chapter #8 Rations

So we rode an Army truck back to our HQ the Stadium well the stadium has a new name Peace maker. It's name was recently changed so while we were heading back Sokolov and Chernov popped a few jokes to bring in some comedy after the encounter. I cant belive it we made it out alive in one peice, We all want something to eat atleast. Well our stomach was growling and we really need a shower we were dipped in mud and sweat.

"Alright guys we are here better enjoy your rest alright?" Our driver told us as we pulled inside the compound.As we stepped out of the truck and we were relived. We are all beat up to hell,Tired, And hungry

Soklov soon placed his left foot at an Ammo box and soon he pointed at the food court "To the Food court!"

I then clutched my hand and shouted "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!"

We all ran at the food court like we were underfire and running for cover!! I then grabbed some MRE's and some sort of tea with ice? I dont know what its called. Also we looked like scavengers who never ate anything for weeks. We were dirty and very stinky and worse of all we were tearing into our meals like we are about to die! I dont care i just want to fill up my stomach. The crew working in the food court was disgusted at our looks.

"Fuck yeah! The food here is.." Harakov was speaking wth his mouth full he then swallows and continues "Awsome!"

"Hell yeah!" Sokolov replied and soon swallow a peice of the chicken breast Levi,Nikolai and Igor were also no exeptinon they too were like monsters consuming their food.

Chernov was strangly the most silent of us. I soon pat his shoulder and i asked him "Dude you allright?" I paused a bit and continued "You seem to be quiet."

Chernov then smiled "Ehhh..Its nothing commrade." And finished his glass of water

I then remembered him and Anina he was comforting her and he showed great respect for her so i soon had the idea.."Is it about Ania?"

"Yeah!" Levi said "You and Ania is such a perfect couple right? Hahaha!"

Chernov blushed and said "Hell no!' He chuckled and he gave me the finger.

Igor then started to poke his left arm "Really are you just hiding your true feelings?"

"Shut up Rat man." Chernov blushed and looked down in shame.

Nikolai then interrupted "Allright guys cut the crap." He then continued " Stop bullying him come on."

Niko nodded and yawned "I feel sleepy im just gonna wash myself up first."

Soon as we were finished eating We then washed up then some of us popped a few vodka.Well i dont like alcohol well some of us soon head at our bunks and we slept like a log i fell asleep fast.

As soon as we woke up we resumed our ordinary camp life again allright to sum up our life in peace maker it was like this Wake up,Bath,Eat,Do Random things,Send messages to loved ones, Clean our guns,Check our gear,Eat,Do random things,Eat,bath,Sleep.

And MRE's are good but outside the camp is a village its a town that recently popped out in the green zone its also close to the metro. The village had awsome food and the people are very friendly. If its early in the morning where its Super cold me and my friends will walk a few hundread meters to a brewery were they serve Instant coffee. We sometimes eat there too. Because some MRE's are just plain disgusting. And we go to a post office we have to pay allot of Stamps (Money in the wasteland) Just to snail mail something to our loved ones. Well one time i was writing the letter for my Mother. I wanted to tell her im alive and well and i miss her like hell. All of my squad mates are doing the same.Harakov was very silent i then take a peek it was a letter to his favorite uncle.Well i was not able to read most of it i then check Sokolov he was writing a letter to his Father. And Levi was writing a letter to his friends at his home station because he was born at the Metro not the surface. Chernov was writing a letter to...Who else? Ania. Igor was writing a letter to his tribe leader.Niko is not only writing a letter to his family he is also going to send Money to them,Nikolai? He is writing a letter to the people who live at Triniti church. So that explains the rosary he has at his chest. He is a faithful Eastern orthodox christian i bet the church is his family well good for him. May god watch over his "Family"

We soon head back at the barracks and talked about each others past as we clean our weapons and load up our magazines.

"Hey Harakov can you tell us about your past?" I said "I know i asked that before but just tell me."

Harakov was silent most of us were confused he then gulped and said "Well i was born in the year 2032 I did not have any parents. I did not grow up to see them i was raised as Duct-rats. He then continued after a slight pause "I lived inside the sewer system living here is almost impossible because you need to constantly check if the water level increases or else you will drown And if its night me and other duct rats sleep near the geothermal generator of the metro also if you sleep too close to the generator you will get grounded until you die. I was forced to steal and rob people i started to do that when i stole a nagant revolver in a gun shop. I had a close brush with death i got shot by a mercenary he was hired to kill me,But one of the bystanders and theat pearson soon became my uncle he was a kind man he took me into his heart .And when the second faction war broke out i saw my duty.Thats why im here." He smiled

I then nodded "OK i understand." I gripped my AK74 Tightly

"Sure i will tell you mine" Sokolov said "I was raised by a single father he was born before the war. His name is Reznov i missed him. And when i was 17 already i was conscripted into the war. I hated being part of the Renegade army but because of all of you." He then looked at us and smiled "All of you gave me a reason to fight.I learned to love and trust my commrades even if they are a crimson of a human (Rat man) And once we win i will become the leader of the wasteland or president of some sort!"

I asked him "Whats your goal when you become one?"

He smiled and stood proud "I will force all girls with big boobs to wear nurse outfits everyday!"

"Pervert.." Nikolai said

Igor replied "Yeah i respect the fact that you accepted me even if i look like a walking corpse. But your perverted qualities make you look disgusting."

Niko and Levi nodded in agreement

"I know you cant help your animal like lusty qualities" I said

And soon i heared a knock at our door it sounded like a girl's voice "Hello? Anyone inside?"

I replied "Please come inside."

It was a very familiar face it was Diana

"Danielle?" She said

"Yes mam?" I stood up and me and my fellow squad mates saluted

"This is an emergency a huge force of spartan and USRR Forces have been seen closing in our Territory." She said

"Allright where is this taking place?" I asked

She then said "Its at the yellow zone at the junkyard."

"Whats that place?" Levi asked

"Its one of the oldest settlements in the moscow ruins famous because its the 3rd largest town in the ruins.And its heavily urbanized.And i heared a wheat feild just popped up in that place." Nikolai said

"You know that place?" I asked

He replied "Of course when i hunt mutated deers i sell their coats their."

"We will be fighting alonside the Stalkers they fear that the USRR and Spartans will rampage across the town and they want to keep the peace." She said "There is also good news USRR and the Spatans are not allies they will be fighting over the town so we will out number them 3 is to 1."

Diana then said "Your squad will be combined by a mechanized division."

I said "And that will be...?"

Diana replied "You will be part of the second largest troop organized 347th Mechanized division well its known as..Hell's angels"

Igor smiled "This is cool!"

Niko replied "You can never be right."
