In the world ruled by humans, vampires cower in fear of being discovered. There was no remorse and mercy when it comes to the killing of vampires. They are the last of their kind but only a handful exists. Humans hated them, vampires were perceived as a threat to society and therefore they wanted them extinct. However, there were always some who were intrigued by vampires, including Kong Xueer.

The red headed beauty was fascinated by such lovely kinds. She believed that they were not how the government painted them as but in fact the opposite. Her lover however has a different mindset. Yuxin hated vampires and think that they are just blood sucking animals. For that, whenever Xueer was caught reading books about vampires by Yuxin, they would end up in a quarrel.

Strutting down the hallways, Xueer ignored the stares and gawks before heading to her friends. "Have y'all heard about the new girl?" Shuxin shut her lockers as her eyes darted between Xueer and Xiaotang. "Yea, she's really weird and nerdy. Did you see her hairstyle yesterday? There were so many clips and pins in her hair." Xiaotang shuddered at the thought of the creepy girl while Xueer was still standing there being confused.

"I feel really stupid. Did i miss out on something? What new girl?" She tugged on the sleeves of her friends while they shot her a 'are you serious' look. "Isn't she in your class? How can you not spot someone with such weird fashion?" Shuxin face palmed while laughing at how absurd Xueer was. The red headed feigned offence and clutched her chest, "I was absent yesterday!"

"Well then, looks like you're gonna see her today. You'll understand what we mean. She just gives off the 'avoid me' vibes." Xiaotang chimed in with Xueer nudging her ribs, "That's a bit mean tangtang." The latter just shrugged and grabbed her books from her locker, "Like I said, you'll get what I mean when you see her." Shuxin agreed while sipping onto her coffee as the three made their way down the corridors of the school.

Once Xueer stepped into her classroom, her eyes were immediately drawn to someone who was wearing a shirt that looked like what a grandpa would wear, baggie shorts and a pair of huge bulky glasses. The girl had silky black hair in a bob cut too. Immediately being convinced that this was the weird girl everyone was talking about, Xueer's brows furrowed. Not to mention the paper balls being thrown at her by the boys sitted in the back of the class proving her suspicion.

While others laughed and our teacher--Ms Shin, came into class not stopping their actions, Xueer remained silent and scanned the girl's back facing her. Her shoulders weren't stooped, her head was still up high, not even affected by the situation. This made Xueer ponder on about how she was still keeping her cool and remaining poised. Seeing how the girl was not doing anything about it, the red headed sighed and slammed the table.

Everyone's head turned to her while she faked innocence, "Why are of y'all looking at me? Pay attention to class." The last sentence was spat out directly to the boys whose eyes were widened. With venom and sarcasm lacing her words, her eyes glared into their souls before looking back at her textbook. When the queen of campus glares at you, you know you're in trouble.

After an hour, Ms Shin then announced, "This drama project will hold 80% of your overall results. So if you wanna pass you have to do this well. I'll start calling pairs based on a random draw." Groaning exasperatedly, she peered out of the window, wanting to escape this hell hole. Heck, she despised having partners. Xueer would always be the one doing the work while the other would always try to get her number despite her being in a relationship.

"Kong Xueer and Xu Jiaqi, you'll be a pair."

Instantly having all feelings of resent being replaced with confusion, Xueer was about to ask who the hell was Jiaqi until Ms Shin pointed to the weird girl. Ahh, so her name's Jiaqi? The red headed thought as she rested her head against her arm. Such rotten luck, well, at least i get to avoid those idiotic boys and bad mouthing girls.

Heading over to her desk, Xueer reluctantly sat next to Jiaqi and stared into blank space. The uncomfortable silence was so thick, it could be sliced with a knife. While others were already discussing on their play, the two were just staring into blank space.

Not able to stand the atmosphere around them much longer, Xueer cleared her throat, trying to break the awkwardness, "Soo....which play are you considering?"

Ignoring her, Jiaqi continued doodling on her textbook, shocking the latter. She refused to believe that she, Kong Xueer, the most popular girl in campus, was being ignored by a weird girl who just entered school one day ago. Forcing out words through clenched jaws, Xueer glared at Jiaqi, "Do you have to be that rude? I helped you out just now and now you're ignoring me?"

One thing Xueer noticed about Jiaqi that she had really, really pale and fair skin. The silky black colour of her hair contrasting so much from her skin tone.  "I didn't ask for help."

Right then, Xueer could feel her blood starting to boil with anger as she clenched her fists tightly. If this weirdo doesn't even want to cooperate, how am I supposed to get good grades for this? Mother is going to slaughter me if I don't receive higher than 90% overall! Eyes glazed with pure fury and annoyance, Xueer stared Jiaqi down, "Well you could at least be grateful-"

The other didn't even spare her a glance before cutting her off, "Romeo and Juliet." Xueer frozed in her spot while Jiaqi finally turned to her with a stoic expression on her face. "You were asking which play I was considering right?" Xueer's uncertain gaze bored into the latter's while thoughts bombarded her mind. Does this Jiaqi girl have a split personality or something?

Slowly nodding her head, Xueer regained her composure and wrote down the play's name on her notebook, "Right....Romeo and Juliet. That could work." Right when she was about to continue, the bell rung. Jiaqi remained in her seat and started doodling again while Xueer left to find her friends, still puzzled as to what Jiaqi was really up to.

Who even change their mind in a split second? This Jiaqi girl is definitely a weirdo... Xueer's brain was filled with questions about Jiaqi, not giving the red headed a single chance to snap out of her thoughts.

Alone in the empty classroom, only the sound of pencil being dragged across paper could be heard. Admiring the potrait of a certain red headed she had just drawn, a chuckle escaped Jiaqi's cold lips as her eyes flashed a deep shade of red, "Kong Xueer...what an interesting name."
