"Hey babe, I've heard you were partnered with the weirdo?" Yuxin sneaked up to Xueer as her arms wrapped around her waist. Smiling, the red headed nodded and sighed, "Unfortunately yes. What about you?" Her expression dropped from a happy one to an annoyed one, "Anqi, the president of the student council. Ugh, such a goody two shoe."

Xueer was about to reply when, Shuxin and Xiaotang came by and caused a ruckus. After a while of chatting, Yuxin questioned the three of them, "Are y'all going to Keyin's party this Friday?" Of course the chaotic duo replied with an elated yes...not for Xueer though. She had her mind somewhere else until Yuxin snapped her out of her trance.

"N-no, you guys should know better that my parents will kill me if I even think about going." They sighed and nodded their heads. The last time the three of them tried to convince Xueer parents, they ended up getting suspended from school because her parents reported them to the principal for 'intruding their homes'.

The three girls shared glances with each other before Yuxin patted Xueer's head, "Also, you alright? You seem like you're in deep in thought." To which the red headed just replied with a monotone yes. Since Xueer was already used to her parents strictness, Yuxin just thought that she was just being moody about her being partners with the weirdo.

Shrugging it off, she told the other two about it. "What? Oh god, I pity you Xueer." Xiaotang gasped as she gave her a small hug followed by Shuxin's teasing laughters.

Romeo and juliet huh, I wonder why? Xueer gazed into blank space while her mind fluttered off to Jiaqi. Something about the 'weird girl' just draws her attention. Though others may think she's ugly and nerdy looking, Xueer thinks the opposite. Having a closer look of her just now, she managed to get a glimpse of her features under those ugly and bulky glasses. Fox like eyes, cutely sculpted nose and kissable lips. She was probably beautiful without those glasses and unnecessary hairpins.

Why would she hide her beauty then? Xueer had countless of questions. The way her mysterious eyes bored into hers while her lips were twisted into an innocent smile, was one of the many things that arouses her curiosity. She didn't care if she was wrong on her opinions about Jiaqi, Xueer just wanted to discover more of her. No matter if Jiaqi was in fact beautiful or not, Xueer still wanted to figure her out. It was as if there was a magnetic attraction between them.

Once break ended, Xueer headed back to class with a heavy mind, worrying her lover and her two friends about her unusual behaviour. Upon seeing a little scrap of paper on her desk, her brows furrowed with confusion. Picking it up, she flipped it around and read the tiny scribbled words.

"Meet me in the library after school around 4.15. We have to discuss for our project, from Jiaqi." Xueer scrunched her nose while her eyes scanned the classroom. This weirdo isn't in class? Lessons are gonna start soon though...maybe she'll come later.

She didn't show up. She was absent throughout the day but the teachers didn't even bother about it. Where on earth is that weirdo? Xueer pondered while absentmindedly making her way to the library. She had completely forgotten about the date she and Yuxin had planned earlier today. It was as if there was a white blank wall blocking her from everything but heading to the library, like she was being...controlled.

A shudder went down Xueer's spine as she entered the library which seemed almost like a ghost town if not for the librarians working there. It was empty with no students inside, not even Jiaqi. Noting that she was early by fifteen minutes, she huffed and studded her hands into her pockets. Since there was no one to judge her, including Yuxin, where's the harm in reading a few vampire books?

Picking a few vampire novels, she was so immersed in reading the she didn't even notice Jiaqi had entered the library.

"Vampire books?"

Xueer felt her soul leaping out of her body as she flinched at the sudden curious whisper of Jiaqi. "You could've at least called me or texted me that you were reaching..."

Jiaqi's eyes were still glued to the books on the desk, not believing the sight. Noticing the look of disbelief on her face, Xueer immediately grabbed them and hid them behind her while shaking her head, "Uh...no? What vampire book?"

Xueer could've sworn that a mysterious glint of pleasant surprise flashed by her eyes before disgust took over, "A popular girl like you liking those ugly creatures?" Xueer sighed, right, she doesn't like vampires like everyone else...and i thought she would be different just because she's weird. What an idiot I am, Xueer ran her fingers through her hair.

"Why weren't you in class after break had ended?" Trying to change the subject, Xueer raised a suspicious brow and waited for Jiaqi to answer. The girl showed no emotions as she sat down, shrugging it off nonchantly, "Because I didn't want to be in a class filled with bullies and ignorant teachers." There was not even a hint of disappointment or whatnot, her eyes had that blank look again.

Not wanting to pry further as Jiaqi seemed as if she didn't want to talk about it, Xueer then signaled towards her, "Right...so shall we work on our project now-" Before she could finish her sentence, Jiaqi suddenly held a finger against her lips, instantly silencing Xueer.

The red headed could feel her soft skin against her own lips as the latter shook her head and softly muttered, "We have 2 months, what's the rush....Xueer?" Somehow, that silky and velvety voice of hers that she first heard and thought she was hallucinating came back when it was the last word---her name. The way she said her name in a much slower pace than the entire sentence laced with daring seduction caused Xueer's heart to palpitate. She could feel adrenaline rush through her veins, as if something was injected into her body.

That moment when Xueer gazed deeper into Jiaqi's eyes, she realised that there weren't any hairpins in her head everywhere and her glasses were no longer those thick bulky ones, instead they were changed to a light silver framed one. She didn't look weird at all.

Instead, Jiaqi looked absolutely stunning. Though her eyes seemed as though they were dripping with venom, it somehow lured Xueer in even more. Suddenly, the vampire books that were hidden behind her accidentally dropped to the floor, the loud thud snapping Xueer back to her senses.

"W-what do you think you're doing?" She grabbed Jiaqi's hands and threw them to her lap while glaring straight into her eyes. Beads of perspiration dotted her neck and forehead though the library was as cold as the north pole, making the red headed feel embarrassed. Why am I feeling like this with a weirdo? Her mind went off like a fire cracker as soon as she regained her composure, hundreds of questions bombarding her mind.

Ignoring Xueer, as if nothing had happened just a second ago, Jiaqi flipped her notebook open and pushed it towards her, "Let's start by introducing ourselves..."
