Leaving the nurses' office, both Jiaqi and Xueer returned to classes of course with the glances of students. News about Jiaqi had already apread across almost the entire school.
"What happened to you Miss Xu, did you get plastic surgery? And why were the two of you so late?" Ms Shin glared at them, her eyes somewhat laced with shock too. The class sniggered at her words while their jealousy glazed eyes stared at the short haired girl.
When Xueer was about to slap some senses into Ms Shin, the latter tugged on her sleeves and smiled slightly while shaking her head. Then in a split second, she turned to the teacher with a stoic expression. Coldly replying her, Jiaqi rolled her eyes at the teacher, what she had wanted to do since day one, "Nothing happened to me. This is the real me."
Xueer couldn't help but to smile a little as she stared at the gorgeous side profile of Jiaqi. That was when she noticed something--- a little small mole right besides her left eye. Something so familiar to the redheaded it felt as if she had seen that before. Ignoring it, she went to her seat with Jiaqi, completely turning a deaf ear to Ms Shin's words of their last warning or whatever.
Later in the afternoon, both Xueer and Jiaqi decided to secretly head to the music room and practice for their play as they had a lot to catch up on. Everything had been sorted out, from the lines to the actions. They just had to practice it at least a hundred times before their actual graded performance. Failing was never in Xueer's vocabulary and this was no exception too.
Each line came with each emotion conveyed. From despair and anger, to love and lust, the two were trying to hide their embarrassment, especially Jiaqi. She had her cheeks painted a pink shade whenever she had to say the romantic lines to Xueer. Not only that but she had a hard time trying to act too. This just wasn't her forté.
"I can't do it...I'm such a burden, I'm so sorry Xueer." Sighing desperately, Jiaqi burried her face into her palms while leaning on the mirror seated down. She felt incredibly guilty with a tinge of resent towards herself. Maybe father and mother was right...I am indeed useless, Jiaqi thought as her heart ached.
That was until Xueer sat next to her and gently carressed her back. Her heart warming eyes stared right at her as comforting words escaped the campus beauty's lips. "You're not a burden...in fact, it's actually cute seeing you get ao flustered like that." Her soft and cute voice complimented the adorable expression she had on, Jiaqi just couldn't help but to fall harder for Xueer.
"Hey...you know we're partners right? We're supposed to help one another. Don't worry, I can be your acting coach." With a joking tone, Xueer flashed a sincere yet cheeky smile. Looking up, Jiaqi returned a soft grin and thanked her, "That would be very much appreciated."
That was when they locked eyes. Xueer's breath hitched as she gazed into her dark orbs. Jiaqi's menacing sharp gaze that came with a hint of elegance bored right into hers. The music room was completely quiet except for the wooshing of the air conditioner and the staggered breathing of the two.
"You know...now without your glasses, you seem really familiar. Like I've seen you in my dreams before." Xueer raised a brow as she leaned closer, making Jiaqi freeze right on the spot. "R-really? What happened in your dreams?" Letting curiosity get the best of her, Jiaqi could only question the latter.
"Well...I had two. The first was just you bringing me back home from the club after I got so drunk, though that felt so real. But apparently the person's name was Yuyan or something." Remaining quiet, Jiaqi felt so guilty at heart knowing that it was all real and not a dream. "Actually...it wasn't a dream. I was the one who took you back home but because in that time, I didn't want people to know the real me so I lied."
Pausing to scan Xueer's expression, Jiaqi then continued, "Yuyan is actually my best friend's name." The redheaded didn't need to ask since she was very sure her best friend was the new girl. Sighing heavily, Xueer muttered under her breath ever so carefully, "Why did you want to hide your real self at first?"
The short haired's breath was suddenly still as her mysterious dark gaze shifted to the floor, "I just didn't want to attract attention." Knowing that there was definitely more to this, Xueer wanted to ask so badly but held her questions in. The uncomfortable expression on the latter was enough to stop the campus beauty.
"So what about your second dream?" Trying to avoid the suffocating atmosphere between them, Jiaqi shifted the topic in hopes that this would be long forgotten. "It was interesting..." The image of Jiaqi with those ruby red eyes and lips as her snow like skin glowed under the orange hue of the lit candle with her tongue seductively running over her sharp intimidating fangs. Xueer's stomach dropped as she bit her lip hard, considering whether she should tell her.
"Uh...you were a vampire in my dreams and you bit me. That's it, I mean you can never do that right?" Xueer couldn't tell if Jiaqi was disgusted or weirded out by what she just said, the girl's face was as stoic as it could get. However, Jiaqi suddenly started to lean dangerously close to Xueer who didn't even notice she was straddling her lap.
"What if I was actually a vampire?"
Silence took over while the two stared daringly into each other's eyes. Until Xueer decided to break eye contact by unconsciously glancing down at her inviting lips. Before the latter could stop herself, she closed the gap.
In that moment when their lips touched, Jiaqi lost all dominance in herself. Her mind went frenzy while Xueer was falling deeper into the abyss. She didn't know what got to her, was it because she hasn't seen Jiaqi for quite some time, or was it because of something else? She herself didn't even know the answer.
Xueer then pushed the latter onto the mirror as she deepened the kiss. On the other hand, the inner vampire of Jiaqi was slowly emerging from the depth of her heart. She knew if this doesn't stop soon, her fangs would soon appear along with the obvious ruby red in her eyes. However, her body wasn't doing what she wanted, in fact, it was doing the exact opposite of what she wanted.
"Yea yea I know Zhao Xiaotang, find Yuyan and Jiaqi because they're late for practice. Ok jeez, I'm now looking in the music room s stop being so impatie-What the actual hell?"
