After hours Melody heard a knock on the door.

It jerked her awake. Then it came twice.

She stood up and ran hurriedly towards the door.

" Melody why didn't you open the door sooner?" her mother asked.

 "I over slept."

"You did? That's rare" Mr. David stood surprised.

"Okay, that's enough talking. Everyone come and sit at the dinner table as soon as you wash up"

Everyone abide with it and soon were having their dinner.

"So, what did you do today" Melody's dad asked.

" I went to the library."

"Again"

" Uh huh and I bought the perfect book." Mr.

" That's what you always say."

"I don't" she said after a while.

"Okay. So you bought a book and you came back home reading it. So that means you didn't do anything new" Mr. David said.

"Well, I found that I'm bad at making jokes." She sarcastically remarked.

Both Mr and Mrs. David were taken aback.

 "What?" she asked.

And both of her parents burst with laughter

"What happened?" she was confounded.

"Oh! Nothing, we thought that you were going to say something important"

"That's it. I'm not eating! You guys don't take me seriously"

"Okay, fine, who in the world said that?"

"A burden on mother earth" said Melody.

The room became silent.

 "You know very well, boys!"

"Okay! Now, Melody you shouldn't say it like that" her mother leactured.

"But why not mom, boys are always mean, they think that they have came from heaven and anyone is no match for them"

"Melody hold your tongue. You're father is a man too"

"He's a man and my dad and I'm only talking about boys"

"God, help my daughter" her mother prayed as she adept-fully cleaned up the table.

"I don't know why you always sound so exasperated when I share things with you. If you don't like it then I won't tell you anything"

Both the parents gave each other a long stare and the husband decided to turn the conversation elsewhere

"So what did that boy say?" he asked.

"I don't remember" Melody went back to her room leaving the air congested.
