Jim's POV :

I need to take Eila to the hospital today. It's almost time, I should call her and ask if she's ready or not. As I bring out my phone I hear a ring and see it's Winnie. Why is she calling me? I pick up when she says, "Hey".

"Hello", I wonder why she called.

"Jim. I need to talk to you. It's important", Winnie says from the other side. Huh?

"Why? And about what?"

"I can't tell you over phone. I need to meet you".

"I'm sorry, I'm busy today", I need to take Eila to the hospital.

"But it's important", she insists.

"Then tell me now, over phone".

"I can't. Okay, are you free tomorrow?"

"Maybe".

"Then meet me at the cafe beside our college in the afternoon", Winnie says while I wonder if I should go or not.

"What's the matter that you can't tell me over phone?"

"I can't. But just be sure that it's really important for you to know about this", what is she hinting about! I guess I have no other option but to meet her.

"Okay, I'll come in the afternoon."

"Thanks".

"I need to go now, bye", I don't wait for her to say bye, I instantly cut the call. But in no way I'm able to calm my mind. What does she want to say? Seemed like it's something important but I don't expect any important news from her at least. I guess I'll know when when I go to meet her tomorrow. But should I inform Eila about this? She'll worry. I decide to meet Winnie first and then inform Eila about everything.

I head near the bus stand and dial her number to know if she's ready or not. As I call I find she's waiting for me. Within 20 minutes I reach in front of her home when she comes and we together head to the hospital. After waiting for a bit it's finally our turn. Inside the cabin we see a female doctor whose name reads Dr. Rebecca Cori. "Hello", she warmly welcomes after which we tell her about the past problem Eila encountered and the thing about the GP in Bar Harbor. "Well, I guess you should get done with the test first", Rebecca informs. I don't know why I'm not feeling good about this. There's a certain kind of fear running in my mind. "Is everything alright?" I couldn't resist myself from asking.

"Yeah. All's good. Don't worry", Rebecca adorns a warm smile. "You are her?"

"Boyfriend", Eila informs with the most beautiful smile before I can.

"I see. Don't worry. Just get the test done", Rebecca smiles.

"How long will it take for the reports to arrive?" Eila asks.

"It's just a CBC. The reports will come tomorrow. Fix an appointment with me for tomorrow, I'll give the reports". Rebecca concludes. I have to meet Winnie tomorrow afternoon. But Eila's reports are more important to me.

"Okay. Thank you", we both head out and fix the appointment for tomorrow after which I take Eila for the blood collecting room but she seems a bit nervous. "What's wrong?" She stops midway which makes me ask so.

"I'm afraid of injections". I can't resist my laughter. I am trying hard to control but I can't while she frowns at me.

"Silly! It's just an injection. Don't worry. Go inside", I insist but she's still hesitated. "I'll be here with you".

"Okay", the nervous lines are still visible on her face. But I take her in and she sits on the chair in front of a lady whose name plate reads Kylie. As Kylie begins to prepare the needle and disinfectant, Eila is continuously squeezing my hand as she's grabbing it as tight as she can.

"You are afraid of injection?" Kylie asks in a bit mocking way.

"N..No", this silly girl is lying!

"That's just a small pinch. Come one, give your hand", Kylie takes hold of her left hand and folds up the sleeve of her sweater after which she rubs the disinfectant on the front side of her elbow. So it's finally time to inject. Eila squeezes my hand more tight and I press them back since this is making me nervous too. Eila faces me pressing her lips while I face her with the same sentiment she's bearing. "That's just a small pinch", and Kylie is about to inject. I immediately pulls Eila closer to me hugging her face as I hold the back of her hand when Kylie injects. I am feeling the pain but Eila doesn't move, nor does she says anything. "It's done", Kylie informs and I release her while she keeps staring at me. "I didn't feel any pain", her words are straight as she peeks into my eyes.

"Silly girl became brave", I grin.

"No thanks for being with me", she smiles as we head back. I'm just waiting for the reports now. I can't help worrying about it.

we ride on the bus to get back. "What's wrong? You seem lost?" Eila asks as I am looking outside the window of the bus.

"Nothing", I force a smile.

"You think I'll believe you?" Her pretty eyes narrows at me.

"I'm serious. Nothing's wrong. I was just thinking about your reports".

"Come on. It's gonna be alright and doctor said there's nothing to worry", she tries to pacify.

"I know but still..". Before I can complete she starts, "No more but and still. I'm fine. See", silly!

"Yeah yeah", I couldn't resist myself from smiling. I don't know why but she's seeming different now. I just feel like staring at her as if there's no tomorrow. Why this restlessness?

"My home came", Eila holds my shoulder. It's time to let her go. I wish I could make this bus journey a bit longer. I want to make her stop and sit beside me but I don't do this. I know she'll stop and stay by me if I say. But I don't stop her. She presses a soft kiss on my cheek before getting out of the bus bidding a bye while I see her going. An unknown feeling of partition!
