"I'm not sure who in all's here right now but I can tell you one thing, " Hanta spoke as the two of them took their shoes off. Korei glanced up at him with an innocent look on her face. "Everyone's gonna love you."
"Hopefully. I don't want to make anyone mad at me, " she mumbled, standing up straight and waiting for Hanta. "I'm a bit awkward with introductions but I'll try my best."
"Don't worry, " he assured, throwing his arm around her shoulder. "This is just so that you know more people at the party than just me. We'll be heading out after I get a nice shower." Hanta clarified. Korei rolled her eyes at him, actually pretty excited to meet Hanta's classmates. She always hated not having friends because she's a very social person but only after she's already met the person. It's an odd type of introverted extrovert.
"Where are we going after we leave here?" Korei asked, letting him lead her into the common room. The whole layout of the building was pretty much identical to her own building, just flipped. If Korei had to, she'd be able to figure the place out but if there were a lot of people in the building then she probably wouldn't be able to do much of anything. "Do you have to meet up with your...friend?"
"Yeah, at the mall, " he nodded. "We can go window shopping or something while we're there. I usually go alone and it's pretty boring. Can't wait to have someone with me. Especially since it's you." Hanta smiled, squeezing her shoulder and pulling her closer. Korei wanted to ask what he meant by that but she just let it be. She let herself feel special because she hasn't felt that way in a while.
As the pair walked into the common room, there were two familiar faces sitting on the couch, accompanied by a redhead that Korei had seen in Hanta's phone. She stiffened at the sight of Shinsou, her heart aching as she remembered the words he had said to her. Maybe she had been the one in the wrong? He just looked so...cool sitting there. He looked like everything Korei had ever desired all wrapped into one. It's no surprise that she had fallen in love with him, he's perfect.
"Korei! Sero! What are you two doing here?" Denki asked, jumping up from the couch to greet the two of them. Hanta slowly unwrapped his arm from around her shoulder, an uncharacteristically solemn look on his face as he talked with Denki. Korei wasn't answering, her eyes locked with Shinsou's. There was something there. Obviously, they weren't over each other even if they had broken up. They both knew that the break up was irrational. They loved each other!
"Yo! I'm Kirishima!" The redhead introduced, prompting Korei to break her eye contact with Shinsou. She smiled at Kirishima, bowing, and introducing herself as well. She couldn't let herself go back to looking at Shinsou or else she'd never get over him. Hanta's efforts would be completely wasted and she couldn't have that. "So, are you and Sero dating or something? I haven't seen you around here before."
"Oh, we're not..." her eyes jumped to where Shinsou sat, quickly returning back to Kirishima. She took a seat beside the redhead, keeping her mind off of her ex-boyfriend. "We're not dating. We're just friends." Korei nodded. "He wanted me to meet some of his friends so that I'd know some people at the party tonight."
"You're coming to the party too? That's awesome," Kirishima grinned. "Look, now you've got me as a friend as well!" He was loud, that much was obvious. Korei kind of liked that, thinking it was great to have friends like him. He was a lot like Denki too. "Hey, what class are you in? You're not in the hero course, so are you a gen. ed. student?"
"Y-yeah! I am! Class 3-C!" She smiled proudly. Kirishima's eyes widened and he quickly turned towards Shinsou, who was staring at his phone screen as he subtly listened to what was being said. Kirishima hit his shoulder to get his attention, prompting the purple-haired insomniac to look up at Korei with those hypnotizing eyes. Despite never having been under the use of Shinsou's quirk, she was definitely under some kind of spell of his.
"Isn't that your old class, dude? Then you must know her!" Kirishima said, Shinsou's eyes taking in Korei's outfit. She was a little nervous to wear her sundress but Hanta told her it looked great. She knew that Shinsou would be upset upon seeing it...maybe that's why she chose to wear it.
"I know her, " he spoke monotonously. Emotions were rare for Shinsou, Korei knew that, especially after dating him. "I know her pretty well actually, " Shinsou added. The blush that coated Korei's cheeks made Kirishima a little nervous. He didn't want to impede on anything but he definitely felt like there was some chemistry there. "Don't I, Korei?"
Korei opened her mouth to respond only to be cut off by Hanta plopping himself down beside her. She was broken from her trance, looking up at Hanta with grateful eyes. Deep down, she didn't want to be in love with Shinsou anymore...and maybe that wasn't as deep down as she thought it was. "Yeah, we know a bit about each other." She nudged Hanta, who appeared to be having some sort of staring contest with Shinsou. "Do you have any other friends that you'd like to introduce me to?"
"Yeah, " Hanta nodded, standing from the couch and offering his hand to Korei. She happily took it, following him out of the room and towards the elevator. "I think Mina's in her room so I'll take you there. I know you'll like her, " he smiled. Korei chuckled, bumping his arm once more.
"You think so?" She asked. Her mind drifted towards the previous moments with Shinsou. "Uh, thanks, by the way." She added as Hanta pressed the button for Mina's floor. He glanced at her oddly, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He didn't really know what she was talking about and Korei could tell that, so she explained to him what she meant. "Everything you're doing for me, it means a lot to me. I mean, we literally just met and you've been helping me more than I ever thought anyone would. Thank you."
"You're helping me too, Korei, " her eyes found his quickly, the softness of his voice something that she hadn't heard before. He said her name, like her first name...why did it affect her so much? "We're helping each other. You'll get over Shinsou and I'll tell that girl that I like her." He hummed, thinking to himself how stupid he sounded. Really putting the 'simp' in sympathetic.
"What if I don't get over him? What if we get back together and all of this blows over?" Korei asked, looking down at her feet. Hanta sighed heavily at the thought, his hands balling into fists before hesitantly relaxing. He couldn't get upset about that, he's just being a creep if he gets upset. It's not like he's dating her, he's only been talking to her for a day. Sure, it's been the best day of his life but he can't speak for Korei. Maybe it's only been the best day for him because he's had a crush on her for a year now?
"Then you two'll get back together and that'll be the end of it, " Hanta murmured, not upset with her at all. He probably couldn't get mad at her. It's not like she knew that he liked her. She wouldn't purposely hurt him like that. He shouldn't even be hurt by that! If she's happy then she's happy, right? That's how that works. Still, just the thought of him not being able to hang out with Korei the way that he did last night actually kind of makes him sick to his stomach. "But, we're working to get that over with. You deserve someone much better than him, and once you realize that then you'll be able to get over him."
"Why do you think so highly of me? You barely know me. What if I'm absolutely horrible? What if I snore in my sleep or something?" Korei giggled at the last part, wanting to clear the heavy air. Hanta chuckled softly, letting his arm wrap around her shoulder as he leaned against her. "I could be a stalker, Hanta-kun. You never know."
"You're amazing, babe, " his words were whispered but they still made Korei's cheeks flush bright red. Shinsou had never called her anything other than her name, so the nickname was a bit flustering to her. Especially since they had established that Hanta's crush's code name was 'Babe'. Wait...is she Hanta's crush? Not possible, they've only known each other for a day! "And by the way, you do snore in your sleep. It's actually pretty funny because you're not a loud person so your snores started out soft and quiet, but then, I don't know what happened but you just breathed in a lot of air and it was loud, " he laughed. Korei whined and hit his chest lightly, embarrassed that he was talking about her snoring. "Hey! That actually hurt!"
