Korei bit her lip as she and Hanta continued walking back towards her building. It was silent, awkwardly so, and she didn't like it one bit. Obviously, he was upset because he had seen his crush with someone else. Korei knew that hurt him. "Hanta-kun, " she whispered, slipping her hand into his. It was the first time they walked side by side without hugging. "What do you want to do now?"
The black-haired boy snorted, cracking a smile. Though he was looking at her through blurry eyes, she still looked absolutely amazing. He swung their interlocked hands back and forth as he looked ahead of them. "See, I want to find a really cute girl and kiss her. Maybe that'll help me get over...her, " he mumbled out. Korei hummed, looking down at their feet as they continued to walk. "I don't even know why I let myself like her so much. I barely knew her! I just, I thought that maybe she was giving off some vibes but I'm just a fucking simp."
"Tell me all of her worst flaws, " Korei smiled, looking up at the sad boy. They stopped walking, Hanta turning to face her completely, his head tilted down to look at her. She could see his eyes were red and puffy, which he could blame on the weed but she knew better. "What's the worse thing about her that you know?"
"She was still in love with her ex when I met her, " he mumbled out, watching Korei's eyes widen. He slowly pulled his hand away from hers. "I feel like if she wasn't then maybe we could have gotten together quicker? I don't know. I just, wanted to give her time. Maybe I gave her too much?" He ran his hands through his hair, slowly looking up at the night sky. Korei stared at him, her eyes jumping all over his face and neck as she thought she was putting things together. Did Hanta actually like her? Everything was adding up. "But I get why she went after that other guy instead, he's so much cooler than me! I'm literally so boring, Korei. It's like I was made just to be a damn background character or something! I hate it. I really fucking hate it. I wish there was something significant about me that made her notice that I'm a cute boy and that I really fucking like her! I can't tell her because I'm so scared that she'll think I'm some kind of loser, which, I kinda am."
"Hanta, please stop, " Korei spoke, her voice soft and low as Hanta continued rambling. He looked down at her, tears streaming down his face. She reached up to wipe those tears away and Hanta couldn't find the strength in himself to flinch away from her. "Please don't talk about yourself like that. You're great, you really are! She's just stupid for not noticing it!" Hanta scoffed at the irony of the situation. She thought he scoffed because he didn't believe her. "J-just think of something that we can go do together that'll take your mind off of her. I-i'll do my best to help you! I want to make sure you're okay so please, just tell me what you want to do and I'll do it!"
Hanta thought of so many ways that this could go, so many things he could ask for. He could get everything he ever wanted if he just whispered what it was. He shook his head, his bottom lip trembling as he realized how much of a coward he was. He couldn't use her like this. "J-just let me walk you to your dorm? A-and you'll text me when you want to hang out?" Korei nodded, agreeing to what he said before pulling him in for a hug. Hanta held her tighter than he planned, burying his face into the crook of her neck and letting the sobs tear through his body. "Fucking God, man. I hate doing this stupid bull shit."
"Just let it out, Hanta, " Korei murmured, rubbing his back in the most comforting way possible. She hated that she really couldn't help him, he wasn't letting her. After a few minutes, Hanta straightened up and apologized for being so emotional. The green-haired girl that he was crushing on just rolled her eyes and held his hand. "You're perfect as you are. It's good to show emotions, " she said, starting to walk with him to her dormitory building. "Speaking of, would you like to tell me about this girl's flaws? I don't think you were finished."
"Well," he breathed out, looking straight ahead as he analyzed every bad quality that Korei had. "She doesn't really like watching TV, and she absolutely hates when she's told what to do. She doesn't really speak her mind and she tries to blame everything on herself? She's also a bit spacey and sometimes forgets that she actually has a quirk, " he chuckled softly as he remembered the incident from earlier. "She's either seriously oblivious or she doesn't like me and just doesn't want to hurt my feelings. I can't tell which one because sometimes she'll send me pictures of herself and then literally an hour and a half later, she's kissing some guy! Oh, you wanna know the biggest flaw?" Hanta asked, side-glancing down at Korei as they walked. She nodded, chewing the inside of her cheek intensely as she realized that she had done all of these things to Hanta. It was too much of a coincidence to not be true. "Everything she does is perfect to me. I fell in love with her because of her flaws so it's not gonna help me to talk about them."
"Hanta, " she spoke up, her voice a little louder than she was expecting it to be. They had arrived at her building, standing outside the front doors as Korei mulled over her question. Should she even ask it? Would it be messed up to make it about herself? Hanta was her friend and he was sad, so for her to ask him this stupid question would just be really messed up. The black-haired boy looked at her with a curious glint in his eyes, still looking like literal perfection. Korei's feelings were all mixed up. "Uh, " she mumbled, deciding at the last minute that she didn't want to seem so self-obsessed. "C-could you please stay the night again? You helped me out when I needed it and I'd like to help you tonight. Even if you don't want to talk about it or anything, we can just sit and talk like before! I don't feel comfortable letting you leave when you're obviously still upset."
"I-i'll stay, " he stammered, not sure why he was so shocked by her asking that of him. "You're really great, Korei. Thanks for being my best friend." God, he wanted her so bad.
