"I THINK, " Hanta began, his voice booming so that the other two would quiet down and listen to him. "Look, I think that there's something going on between Aizawa and Present Mic." He announced with a serious look on his face. Korei gasped loudly, quickly clambering to her knees as she loudly agreed with him. "Present Mic talks about him a lot on his radio show."
"I know right!" Korei bubbled, her excitement pouring out with the citrus smell. She didn't want to think about Shinsou, so she paid an ungodly amount of attention to what Hanta was saying. Denki was engrossed in a conversation on his phone, typing away with an upset look on his face. He was talking to Shinsou, trying to figure out what had gone wrong. The purple-haired insomniac just ignored his questions and left them vaguely answered. "I think that they're really cute together! See, I want a relationship like that! Hitoshi and I came to the conclusion that they're a secret couple." Korei's grin dropped when she realized that she was talking about Shinsou. "I hate this, " She pouted, trying so hard to will her tears away.
"That's okay. Just let it out. The more you cry, the quicker you'll get over him, " Hanta nodded, leaning forward so that he was a little bit closer to her. "It also helps to have a distraction of some sort. What are you into?"
"I really like musicals, " Korei mumbled, reaching up to wipe her tears away. Hanta beat her to it, gently wiping his thumb over her puffy cheeks. "You wanna know something?" She quipped, the excitement back. Hanta chuckled and nodded, letting his hand drop as he listened intently for what she had to say. "I tried writing my own musical last year! It's actually really terrible, " she giggled. "It was about a princess and a prince in an arranged marriage. The princess fell in love with the prince's knight and the prince found out and had him beheaded."
"That doesn't sound bad!" Hanta cheered, shaking his head at her. Korei raised an eyebrow at him, almost as if to challenge him. "Look, I wrote a book last year and it was the creepiest thing I've ever done before." He confessed, a dopey grin on his thin lips. Korei nodded and was ready to listen to him, slowly losing herself in those black eyes of his, when she was reminded that Denki was there also.
"I have to go, " the blond murmured, nervous that Korei would pry and try to find out why. He had to leave because Shinsou needed someone. Despite breaking up with Korei, it still hurt him to realize that he was alone. "Will you be alright?" Denki pressed, wanting to make sure that his friend was stable before he left. Korei's face was a bit flushed but the two boys figured it was because of her crying.
"Yep!" She nodded, motioning to Hanta. "I have Sero-kun here just in case I need anything, " the green-haired girl quickly turned to look at Hanta. "You're alright with that, right?" The boy nodded, smiling at her before they both returned to the situation at hand.
"Okay, " Denki hummed, sliding off of the bed and giving Korei a hug before heading out. "Just text me if you need anything. Korei, make sure you tell Sero where your inhaler is!"
"Yes, mom, " she rolled her eyes, smiling and waving at her blond friend. Once the door was shut, her attention was given back to Hanta. The two of them shared a look before giggling about nothing in particular. "Tell me more about this book you wrote! Can I read it?" She mused, moving a few pillows around as she laid on her bed.
Hanta was a bit embarrassed, that much is true, but he didn't really care. He was having more fun with Korei than he thought he would. The atmosphere was a bit awkward but he felt like he could tell her anything. Could he call her babe? Would she like that? Probably not...
Korei tossed a pillow at him and erupted into a fit of giggles as he reacted. Hanta had been so stuck in his head that he didn't realize he was zoning out. After a few more chuckles and shared laughter, he began telling her about his book.
"It's about this girl and this guy, right? They met in a bathroom at a party, okay. That's like, not important to the story what so ever but it's there, " he said. Korei's eyes were wide with intrigue, actually wanting to know more. She liked having friends that did creative things. The discussions were always so interesting. "She smokes pot for the first time and she likes it so she starts smoking with him and his friends a lot more. They get closer, like, close enough so that everyone around thinks they're dating."
Korei hummed in approval, enjoying the story. She'd love to sit and read it. Why did he think it was creepy? "Do they start dating?" She questioned and Hanta just smiled at her, hushing her gently. He was glad that she liked the retelling of his fanfiction but he was pretty certain that she wouldn't if she knew that it was about her.
"Listen, " he grinned and she nodded. "She tells him that she likes someone and he's trying so hard to get her with this other guy-"
"WHY? Why doesn't he just tell her that he likes her?!"
"He doesn't know he likes her yet, okay? It's like a...first love type thing, alright? So, he's helping her with this guy but the girl starts to slowly realize that she doesn't like this guy." Korei's eyes widen and she waits enthusiastically for him to continue. "She likes the main guy. So, she and the main guy fall asleep in her bedroom together. Probably that same day, I can't remember, he's teaching her how to roll a joint and they kiss. They start dating and yeah, that's the gist of it."
"I want to read it, Sero-kun!" Korei cried. "How is that creepy? I like it!"
"It's creepy because it's about a girl that I had only met a few times. Most of the stuff in it were guesses or just stuff I found out from her friends." He mumbled out, cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "It sounds like I was stalking her."
"That is a bit strange but, I have a confession to make, " she said, smiling at him. Hanta leaned forward so that he could hear her clearly. "I was a bit obsessed with Hitoshi before we dated. Sometimes, things work out." She didn't even tear up about it, she actually seemed really happy.
"Yeah?" Hanta sighed, reaching for his plastic bag with the last joint in it. "I still kind of like that girl, I just know a tiny bit more about her now." Korei practically shot up in the bed, excited as she threw her hands onto Hanta's knees. His eyes were filled with amusement as their faces moved to be mere inches away from each other.
"Sero-kun, you have to tell the girl that you like her! It's the only way for you to be happy!" She shouted, unaware of how close she was to him. "Relationships are fun! You get to do all sorts of things while you're together. Yeah, it hurts a lot when you break-up but why should that stop someone from dating again? Hitoshi was my first boyfriend and I'm not planning on letting him be my last, not now anyway."
Hanta observed every part of her face, thinking about how beautiful she actually was. Her skin wasn't as smooth and perfect as he originally thought, there were a few blemishes here and there. It's strange but he felt happy for noticing that, like, he was happy that she had flaws. It made her more like him. It made her more human.
"I've only talked to her one time, Saito. I think it's best if I give it a little bit more time, " he smiled as they moved apart. Korei shrugged and nodded, getting comfortable on her bed once more. "You wanna smoke the last one with me?"
"Yeah, but first I have to give you my inhaler."
