Friday is here.

The plan is to take Ella and Danny to my parents, go on our date on the lake, then pick them up after.

I put on the button up, and walked out to the living room, slipping my shoes on.

Me: Ella girl, are you about ready?

She came running out with her backpack dragging on the floor, Happy right behind her.

Ella: YYYYEP!

We all piled up and headed out.

Ella ran up to the door like she owned the place and knocked

A very flustered looking Charley answered the door with her phone stuck to her face.

Flustered or not. She looked fuckin cute. She had a dark green flowy dress, and flip flops on. Her curly hair looked tame, and she had some light make up on.

Damn.

She smiled and mouthed "give me just a sec"

Then opened the door for us to walk in.

Her house was cozy. Dannys toys were strung about the place, there were books piled on everything, along with plants.

Charley: Well you said you'd send someone out a few weeks ago, and no one has shown up still. This is my third time calling. I need it fixed.

I looked over at her, she was picking up dishes and putting them in the sink. Ella ran off to find Danny.

Charley: Aright. Thank you.

She hung up and looked over at me

Charley: Ugh. I'm sorry. Hi!

Me: What's wrong?

She picked up some papers off of the table

Was she really cleaning right now?

Charley: The repairman still hasnt come out to fix the dryer, and it's just becoming a pain in the ass. And the house is a mess, I'm a little embarrassed about that, I didnt think I'd be on the phone so long, So i didnt know you all would be coming in. I'm sorry.

Me: Alright. First off, your house isn't a mess. So stop trying to clean things.

She looked over at me with two books in her hands like she had just been caught.

Me: Second, if you're cool with Happy coming in the house, I can take a look at your dryer. Really. I told you before I wouldnt mind.

Charley smiled and put her hands on her hips.

Charley: First off, that sweet boy is always welcome in this house.

She was mocking me, while i was trying to help her.

Charley: second, i cant ask you to do that.

I rolled my eyes, hurried outside to grab Happy and my toolbox and came back in.

Me: Wheres it at?

She huffed and started walking down the hall.

She had pictures, books and plants all over the place.
