Tyler: Oh come on. You'll really like her.
I just stared at him and took my tool belt off.
Tyler: Shes a fuckin preschool teacher with a big ass, dude. That's perfect for you!
How this man landed a smart girl like Kim is completely beyond me. He's tried to set me up on dates before and Everytime he describes the girl, it's all about her looks. Unless being a preschool teacher is a personality trait?
Doubt it.
Me: Nah, I need to buckle down with group. And I'm busy this week.
Not a complete lie.
I did technically have homework from Dr. Winters.
Tyler: horse shit.
Me: I'm taking Ella to the museum after school today, and this weekend she might have a friend over
Side track him with Ella, that always works.
Tyler: oh yeah? A new friend from school already?
Told ya.
Me: Yep. She wants to show off the tree house, thought maybe id take them fishing if you wanna come by.
Tyler: Nah, Kim's parents are coming into town this weekend. Take pictures for me though.
I packed up my shit and hurried home for a quick shower and change of clothes, then headed to baby girls school.
I got there with a few minutes to spare, like always, and people watched.
There was a young girl singing loudly with the windows down and I chuckled. That would definitely be Ella when she was old enough to drive.
I glanced over at a man talking on his cell phone, and over by the benches, there was dannys mom.
What was her name?
Charley?
She gave me a little smile and dove back into her book.
The doors flew open and I spotted Ella right away. I was getting better at this.
We got to the museum and i swear her whole little body was vibrating
Ella: How old are dinosaurs?
Fuck if i knew.
Me: 500 bazillion years old.
She didn't buy it.
She looked so tiny next to these big ass dinosaur exhibits
Me: You wouldn't of even been a snack for these guys.
She giggled and tugged my hand to the next exhibit
Me: give me your best dinosaur noise
Without skipping a beat
Ella: RAWWWWRRRRRR!!!!!!
I chuckled and quickly wrapped my hand around her mouth, pulling her back to my thighs.
Me: I didnt mean you had to be as loud as these things were goofy
She giggled. I loved her little high pitched giggle.
We stopped to look at some big stack of bones
Ella: Whats this one?
I flipped open the brochure and skimmed around trying to find out, i couldnt just keep making shit up, she was supposed to be learning. And i was running out of clever names.
