A few days later Danny was back to 100%

We decided to pawn the girls off on my parents, they were more than happy.

I was always scared I was asking them to watch her too much, but both of my parents jumped at any chance to keep Ella overnight. They were equally as excited to get both of them.

I figured it was a good thing. Ella and I needed time apart, and I was happy she had such a great relationship with my parents.

I was excited to spend some adult time with Charley. I hadn't seen her too much the last few days, and even the few days before that we hadn't had much alone time.

I packed up my bag and got happy in the Jeep.

When we got there, the front door was open, so i knocked on the screen door

Charley: Come in!!

Usually she had the place locked down like Fort Knox, so this was a little odd.

I walked in, happy ran to his box of new toys Charley had bought him a few weeks ago

Me: Marco?

I heard her giggle

Charley: polo!

I followed the sound of her cheery voice to the hallway

The attic latter was pulled down, so i stepped up and poked my head up

She was digging around in boxes. She was in jean shorts and a worn out shirt, her hair was up in a bun. My favorite.

Me: What are you doing?

She smiled at me before pushing a big ass box towards me

Charley: can you carry this down?

I pulled it towards me and groaned like the old man i was

Me: what the fucks in here? Bricks?

She rolled her eyes

Charley: i got it up here, you can get it down old man.

I pulled it down, she followed behind.

I carried the box to the living room, she did a little happy dance and opened it

Me: what is that?

Charley: decorations.

She pulled out a throw pillow with leaves on it, and stuck it on the couch.

I rummaged through it.

It was full of fall decorations.

I chuckled

Me: babe, it's August.

She smiled wider and pulled more out of the box

Charley: i know!

I chuckled again before sitting on the couch. I watched her dance around the house placing her little nick knacks all about.

She started a playlist of Halloween songs, and lit a cozy fall smelling candle.

She was nuts.

But i imagined her doing this in my house and my heart warmed.

I pictured coming home one day to see the house redecorated in whatever holiday theme.

I really only decorated for Christmas.

Me: Are you one of those people that decorates for Christmas the day after thanksgiving?
