"Dad," I said when he answered the call after three rings.

"Kylie, napatawag ka?" he asked.

I inhaled deeply before speaking. It's different now. Daddy is already happy with Tita Lucy and with kuya and I know that this favor will make them uncomfortable. Syempre, I want to consider their feelings.

"I have a favor to ask," I said. I can feel my heart beating quickly. I don't want Tita Lucy to misinterpret this. She might think that we're trying to get Dad back, but Mom and I are only doing this for Lolo Isko.

"Ano iyon, anak?" I looked at mommy first. When she gave me a nod, I answered Dad.

"Can we meet?"

"Sure, i- text mo sa akin kung saan," nagsalita agad si daddy kaya hindi ko naituloy iyong sasabihin ko pa dapat.

"With mommy,"

Matagal na hindi nagsalita si daddy. This isn't the first time that they will be together again but they are still uncomfortable with each other.

I guess time is not yet done with its work of healing wounds.

"Tita Lucy can join if you want," dugtong ko dahil hindi pa rin nagsasalita si daddy.

"Okay, anak, text me the location,"

"Thank you, daddy,"

Pagkatapos ay in- end na niya iyong call.

"Pumayag siya," I told mommy while smiling.

She just nodded. I'm glad mom and I are now okay with each other. Both of us have our faults. Masyado akong immature at hindi ko inisip iyong reasons ni mommy which are all valid.

But I'm glad we compromised.

"Mommy may gagawin ka po ba?" I asked.

"Bakit?" she asked. Ibinaba niya iyong paper na binabasa niya. She wasn't like this before. I guess this is also an improvement.

"Can you teach me how to cook caldereta?" mommy smiled tapos inayos niya iyong mga files sa table niya.

"Sure!" she said tapos isinuot niya iyong coat. We went to a supermarket to buy the ingredients.

"Ayusin mo iyong pags- slice ng ingredients. That's one of the qualities of good cooking. Sino ba naman ang may gustong kumain nang hindi maayos na gayat 'di ba?" she held my hand as she guided me sa pags- slice noong carrots.

"Kailangan po ba same size?" I asked the mommy laughed.

"Hindi naman, just make sure na magkakalapit sila ng size,"

Pagka- slice namin sa mga ingredients ay kinuha ni mommy iyong pork.

"Hugasan mo iyan,"

"Sure mommy,"

Itinapat ko sa faucet iyong pork. Mukhang maayos naman ang paghuhugas ko dahil walang comments si mommy.

"There! Tikman na natin," she said noong tapos na kaming magluto.

"Ang sarap!" sabi ko pagkatikim doon sa niluto namin.

This is really my favorite food.

"You should remember the steps that I taught you, hindi mo ako laging kasama Kylie," she said while looking into my eyes.

"Syempre hindi tayo laging magkasama, mom! May sarili na akong bahay eh," I said to lighten the mood. She looks so serious.

"You know that it's not what I mean,"
