"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Local time is 3: 30 in the afternoon and the temperature is 27 degrees Celcius. For your safety and comfort, please remain seated until the captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move."
I don't know if I will be able to do this since I promised myself before to never set a foot in this country again.
Halos wala pa ring nagbago sa paligid even after three years. Sino na ba ang pangulo dito?
"Where do you want to go? We still have time to spare," sabi niya sa akin habang nakangiti.
Rocco just nodded and instructed the driver the direction towards my home, the one where mom lives. After an hour ay nandoon na kami.
"Thank you for the ride!" sabi ko noong ibinaba niya ang maleta.
"Call me when you have time," Rocco said while holding my hand. I gently removed his hand from mine.
"I will, Atty." I said then entered the house.
I looked around.
"Anak!" Mom said when she saw me standing there.
"Hi, mom," I said. We were talking to each other from time to time while I was away kaya siguro hindi rin namin miss ang isa't isa, aside from the physical touch.
"Did you eat na?" she asked. "I cooked your favorite," it's one of the things that I missed here, eating the caldereta cooked by mom. Pumunta kami sa dining area para kumain. Damn, this is home. No matter how much I deny it, alam ko sa sarili ko na dito ko pa rin gustong manatili.
"How's Zandro?" mom and Kuya grew close to each other and it was okay with Dad and Tita Lucy. They have the same goal of keeping me safe kaya siguro nagkasundo rin sila. I remember one time noong umuwi sa Kuya at kailangan niya ng kasama, si mommy ang isinama niya kasi nasa trip si Daddy at Tita. Mom still loves my Dad pero iyong pagmamahal na tanggap mong wala na, iyong pagmamahal na masaya ka dahil masaya na siya.
"Nagbukas po ulit siya ng isa pang branch ng art gallery niya," Kuya has a talent in painting though humahawak din siya sa business ni Dad. He is actually a known painter in Spain.
"That's good to hear. He told me that Indira's there too. How did it happen?" tuloy- tuloy na sabi ni mommy. I explained the details to her.
I was planning to meet Gail in the morning tapos si Cassey naman sa tanghali. They're my friends who I treasure the most.
After a few minutes ay tumunog iyong phone ko. It was a reply from Mist stating the time and location ng aming meeting.
