Riker

This was the worst possible moment in time. My beautiful little sister was probably 30 feet in front of me laying helpless in a glass box welling up with tears and I could do nothing to comfort her. Rocky kept telling me to shut up but I just can’t help it. Where is the compassion here? This man that had placed such tragedy on my family, he was a father as well. Did he not feel any guilt at all about how he has treated her? What would he do if his own little girl was kidnapped by some psycho Father who thought he was doing right by his kid? If he could do this for no reason I honestly don’t want to know what he would do in a serious situation.

After screaming her name a few times, I finally came to the conclusion that Rocky was right and moved on to better ideas. “Guy’s we need to get out of here. She needs us. We have come so close to winning this war and we cannot give up now. We are a team, we are a band, we are a family, and we are MEN! Now... does anyone of you men have an idea? Hey, ouch that hurt!” You try to give these guys a pep talk and all it gets you are two swift kicks to the shins. Well Rocky and Ellington can deal with me evilly staring at them as payback. “Really Riker, I thought you were going somewhere with that and then you go all President Obama on us, Ellington do you have anything useful to say?” Well at least Rocky didn’t completely ignore everything I had said.

CRACK! What the hell? Rocky, Ellington and I all look to are lefts to see Ross now fully standing with a broken chair wrapped around one arm. Rocky looked between Ross and I stuttering to get words out. “Uh, so... did you just... with your bare... and we have been... I mean... ARE YOU SERIOUS ROSS! Did you honestly just break out of a chair you were tied to simply by flexing your muscles?” Ross gave Rocky a big sheepish grin and started laughing. “Ha Ha oh Rocky you are hilarious. I guess I should say thank you for thinking that my muscles were strong enough to break this thick twine just with a couple flexes but oh my gosh you are to flattering. Remember those things we packed, you know knives? Yeah I grabbed mine out of my boot and cut the rope. It only took me that long because I had to stretch around the chair to find the right boot.

Well that’s impressive. “Great job Ross. Now instead of standing there gloating would you mind cutting the rest of us loose so we can go save Rydel?” Ross’ smile faltered for a second before he walked up behind Rocky. “Right I should get on that. Okay everyone sit still.” Within a few minutes we were all free from our chairs making a new plan. Ellington now being the one with the brains had decided to check the door to get out of this God forsaken room only to discover that it was double bolted or something from the outside. In other words we were still stuck. Rocky seeing what Ellington was up to had tried throwing the chairs at the 2 way mirror but it must have been bullet proof or something because not even one crack appeared after all four chairs. While Ross and Rocky continued throwing things at the window and Ellington tried to pry the door open with a credit card, I just sat down in a corner where I could not see Rydel. Clearly we were getting nowhere anytime soon.

Suddenly there was a loud smack, a grunt, and an “oops” as Ellington went flying into Rocky and Ross. They both shouted “Hey what the...” as we all looked towards the door. Almost simultaneously we all shouted “RYLAND!” Just behind him was Sabrina and they both were smiling from ear to ear. “There you guys are. What the heck happened? Do you know how long we have been waiting to hear from you guys?” Actually I had never really thought about it. I just knew that Rydel was here and that we had been captured. Ellington sat up rubbing his forehead which now had a big red mark on it from getting smacked with the door. “Oh ouch that hurt. Thanks Ry; and no we don’t know. We were knocked out before being brought in here. What time is it?” Ryland looked around at our four faces and pointed at Sabrina. “That’s just it see time isn’t really the proper question. More like what day is it? Sabs here panicked because she hadn’t heard from anyone in over 24 hours...” Over 24 hours... Again all of us simultaneously shouted “WHAT!”

Ross sat up pushing Rocky off of him. “We were knocked out for an entire day! No wonder my body was so stiff from sitting in that chair. I thought it was just because the twine was too tight.” Just then Sabrina noticed Rydel sitting on the floor of her little room. “Oh my God! There she is...” Ryland rushed over to the window as we watched his face grow sad. “What have they done to her?” Ellington patted Ry’s shoulder and nodded towards the door. “That isn’t what matters right now. You freed us again. Let’s go save her before those guys come back to recapture us. Good luck everyone.” There was a group hug and we all rushed out the door. As we split up Ryland shouted to us all, “If you make it to Rydel buzz Nichol’s! We need to get this done properly to finally end it!” Quick flashes of thumbs up were spread out down the hall ways. Before I ran after them I stopped to take one last look at Rydel. We were going to save her. There was faith in our hearts and I could not wait to give her the best big brother hug I could muster, just as soon as we get her out of that box.
