Ryland

“I WAS STUPID OKAY!” Sitting around the living room of this big old house, everyone had been staring at me for over an hour hounding me about why I had come here without a clear goal. And to be honest, I was losing my freaking mind! The guys had arrived about three hours ago and without evening breathing a word of hello had forced me to start talking. Don’t get me wrong, I am just the kid who knows way too much and caused more drama then necessary. But I still am the only one who can actually find Rydel. Can they really blame me for being a little hesitant when it comes to blurting more information out? Just look at what happened the last time. I ended up bringing a girl home. She is a cute girl of course... wait that is so not the point here. “Ryland quit the dramatics and tell us the fucking truth would you.” Seriously Rocky! Get some patience.

“Fine whatever but just stop nagging at me for coming to L.A. without a game plan okay? It was clearly a dumb idea. Build a bridge and get over it.” Riker gave Rocky a stern big brother “calm down” look and nodded at me. If this was his way of saying they will chill... yeah right! I know my brothers. This story could take all day. “Okay, so most of the story you guys have put together yourselves with the help of Dad and I. Those guys back at Christmas that came to the house are the ones who have Rydel. They were college buddies of Dad’s and that is how he knew who they were and what they were after. Yes, one of the guys did want to have his daughter sing with R5 and up until recently Dad had not known who she was.” Riker interrupting as usual quickly asked, “Is this why Sabrina is here? Is she the girl?” I could hear the attitude in his voice and knew where he was going with his thoughts. He was thinking what I thought. Sabrina had known. I quickly walked to stand in front of her to let the guys know she was out of this. “Yes, Sabrina is the girl but let me finish the story and you will see what I found out.”

Riker nodded again relaxing back onto the floor and let me continue. “So anyway, they left and life went on. You know all about the New Years Bash and Dad trying to call the guy up when we arrived. He had apparently sensed that there was more to them coming when they had started asking him about New Years and had claimed to be security. As it turned out they had created this plan to kill off each of you one by one until someone agreed to sing with Sabrina and make her famous by sharing your fans. Dad had accidently over heard them making this murderous plan and unfortunately for Rydel, she had found Dad eavesdropping without realizing what she had done. There was a bunch of physical restraints that went down, Rydel was taken away and probably told a secret evil plan that involved killing and was brought back just before stage time.” Ross suddenly blurted out “THAT’S WHY WE COULDN’T FIND HER DURING DRESS CHECK.” “Yes Ross, that is why. Shall I go on, or would you like to continue having your eureka moment?” Sabrina started giggling behind me and Ross just glared at her as he calmed down.

Once again I blocked Sabrina and continued. “Dad said she had looked terrified when she returned but would not say why. She claimed everything was alright but she had been given 48 hours to decide if she would help Sabrina or let her band mates die one by one.” Ellington’s face lit up like an angry Christmas tree. “THAT’S AWFUL! She had to decide between her family and her families’ fame? What kind of a stunt is that... obviously she would pick her family.” I smiled. He was right. She would pick her family and she probably did. “I think your right Ellington. According to Dad, he did not believe that things were as calm as she had said. So he once again found himself eavesdropping and overheard the guys talking about a car crash that would kill one of the band mates if she did not complete her “act” of some kind. Dad thinks it may have been the head injury at the end table later that night.”

“We are not sure what was supposed to happen but Dad had realized just after agreeing to let Ellington drive that it may have been a bad idea and had done the only thing he could have and got in the car when Ellington wasn’t looking. Rydel had seen him, but he had told her to shush. After all that we know what had happened.” Everyone in the room nodded looking at Ellington. “He saved my life.” Ellington smiled for a quick second before asking, “Did he say anything about the disappearing girl?” By this point my feet were hurting from standing up for so long and I sat down on the arm rest of Sabrina’s chair. “Yes actually. He had seen a guy take Rydel. He said he was all blurry but remembered seeing the guy pick her up and tell him that he had broken their deal and that Rydel would never be seen again. They were given the phone number to hear daily updates from her and that is where Dad had heard Sabrina’s name. He had thought he was hearing her and Rydel singing everyday but it turns out he was hearing a recording. Sabrina had never seen or heard of Rydel and had only known about a secret writer.”Riker once again interrupting looked super anxious. “So hang on then, does that mean Rydel may actually not be alive? If Dad was not ever hearing Rydel in person, could she be dead?”
