the cold breeze rushed through me as i exited the mansion. i was glad to be out of there, it was so suffocating with all the lights and expensive equipment. not to mention the people in there, gun was a stupid bastard while aera was the most uptight female i've ever seen. don't even start on junsoo, what could he be writing in that fucking notepad anyway?
i released a big breath, feeling a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders.
a small movement rustled the bushes, i stopped my movements. i was surprised to see a little kid, hiding behind them. he stepped out, looking at me with curiosity lodged in his eyes.
i noticed the same green colour in his eyes, just like aera and jiae. i put two and two together, figuring out who this little guy was. this kid must be kitae, jiae's son who aera told me to protect.
i smiled a little, not wanting to appear scary.
"hello," the young boy said.
"hi...kitae, right?" i asked. he nodded, smiling back at me.
"you knew from the eyes right? it runs in the family," he explained, then immediately asked, "do you like boats?" my eyes peered down at the little toy boat in his hands. i shrugged and replied, "i don't know."
"sure you do, you just don't wanna tell me," kitae smiled at me, wanting to hear a real answer from me. i looked at him, a smirk placed on my lips at his cleverness.
"i hate boats, actually. spent three weeks on a boat with my friends and hated every minute of it," i told him.
"why?" he asked.
"i get sea sick, it's not pretty."
kitae giggled a little, looking down at his toy. he said, "you're the new bodyguard, aren't you?" i watched him, noticing the glint in his eyes.
"how'd you know?"
"i've got ears."
we looked at each other. i felt an awfully nice bond with this kid, even though we just met.
"taehyung!" a voice call out from the distance. i turned my head to see jaeho running towards us. i let out a tired sigh, not wanting to talk to him.
"i'll see you later, taehyung," kitae said quietly, walking away in the opposite direction. i looked at the youngster, asking, "how did you know my.." but he was already gone.
'hmm, smart kid,' i thought, looking in his direction with awe. jaeho tiredly placed a hand on my shoulder, panting heavily from running. he bent over, recollecting his breath.
"taehyung...we need to..talk," he breathed out. i rolled him eyes, moving out of his grip.
"about what? huh? about how you lied to me? or how you made me come all the way here just to be humiliated?" i scoffed and started walking away from him. jaeho was quick to follow me and held on my arm tightly.
"come on, taehyung. i know aera can be difficult sometimes but she'll come around," he said quickly.
"i don't care, you already wasted enough of my time. you lied to me about how she needed me, she doesn't give a fuck about me or my job," i said, pulling my arm out and continued walking quickly.
"no, i didn't tell yo-"
"no, don't talk to me. i don't want to hear it. she's fine, she's not in any danger so just quit bo-"
"there was a bomb, taehyung," jaeho revealed out of the blue. my body stopped, taking time to process what he just said.
"what?" i asked softly.
