Chapter 8

Hadrian likes to study a lot so he mostly spend time in library or reading books that some pureblood Slytherin's gave him from their personal family library. He also found RoR thanks to Salazar and found that the room has many hidden books. He found his lessons rather dull as he already know most stuff. He didn't like Transfiguration much mainly because Prof. McGonagall was biased towards Gryffindors. Although they didn't have to share this class with Gryffindor she sometimes merge their classes using her authority as Deputy headmistress. In every lesson two Slytherin sit on each side of their King as sign to protect him but never in any lesson any Slytherin sit in front of Hadrian as show of respect. Purebloods are trained for Protocols so Hadrian didn't have to face any unruly kid. He also noticed how some Gryffindors giving him deathly glares and threats whenever they locked eyes with him. Others just try to avoid eye contact with him. Only single Gryffindor whom he is interested looked him with respect and gave him courtesy nod whenever they locked eyes. That small nods made Hadrian even more enthusiastic in getting Neville on his side.

Hadrian set rules for Slytherins to study beforehand especially for transfiguration as he don't want to lose any house point if not gain. Rest professors were not biased so Hadrian didn't force every subject on fellow Slytherins. However, he made sure that weak Slytherin students get help from peer either to pairing up smart one with them or teaching them. Hadrian constantly told them Knowledge is Power. He has given strict order that if Slytherin house loose point because of stupidity or ignorance, the student responsible has to face him. That was enough push. At one point even McGonagall had to appreciate Slytherin's effort and award them points.

In one of McGonagall's lesson, Harian again got in argument with bossy girl. This time Professor didn't interfere as she actually wanted to see end result.
Granger: "You can't talk to people like that"
Potter: "I have no interest in hearing you."
Granger: "You are so rude."
Potter with cold gaze: "That's like 50th time you are saying it Granger and I proved you wrong all time. Yet you keep trying. I agree that we didn't have right start. But by now it's clear to every single person here that I am clearly gifted wizard and you're just pathetic, book kissing mud blood who likes to keep bossing around. Let me make this very clear if I ever want your opinion I will ask for it."
Before granger/ McGonagall can answer loud weasley shouted: "Don't you dare call her that traitor. Your mother was also muggle-born."
As soon as he said that every needle from Slytherin's desk rise up and given Ron emergency acupuncture to make him froze and stops completing statement.
McGonagall got wide eyes: "How all of you able to do these with precise aim pointing?"
Hadrian: "For Slytherins knowledge is power and this is just an example"
He was well aware that McGonagall will deduct their house point for giving halfhearted answer like that or using foul word. But to his surprise she didn't.

DADA was his favorite subject because of Darkness it involves. Also Hadrian liked the Darkness and evil power radiates from Professor Quirrell. The fake stammering was really annoying though thankfully in this class they don't have to share space with other houses.

For potion Hadrian asked Draco to get information beforehand from his Godfather. So he figured it will be in pairs in complex potions. They share Potions with Gryffindors but in this class (unlike Transfiguration) Gryffindors don't speak much to avoid Snape's detention and deducting points from their House. He addressed who will pair with whom to avoid any fallout in front of their house head. He choose Parkinson as his partner, Blaise with Milicent,Draco with Greengrass and lastly Crabbe and Goyle with Carrow sisters.
Before one of Carrow sister opens their mouth he glared icy gaze to them:"Disrespect won't go unpunished second time if you try me. My reason for putting you is your lesson for siding foolish."
They just nodded.
Hadrian: "Theo, I have special task for you. My pet do well and you will earn your forgiveness. You will also earn your place in my court as person not pet."
Theo: "How may I serve you my King?"
"Certain Gryffindor has caught my eyes since beginning. Rumor says he is Squib but I know what he contains. Save him from Severus's intimidation and fix him.Once he is ready bring him to me. Any question?"
"Who is the one you seek master?
"Neville Longbottom."
He noticed shocks on other slytherins faces.
Hadrian: "You may not agree with my observation at moment, but as our little history might be enough to prove you that people can surprise you. Your task is to bring real wizard out of shell of Squib. Do this and achieve your right to be called real Slytherin, do you understand my wish?"
Nott: "I obey your wishes my King."

Then Hadrian looked at last remaining member of his group.
Hadrian: "Tracey doesn't think I forgot about you. I leave your choice of partner to you, choose someone who can be your eyes and ears in Gryffindor's inside information. Be vigilant that he/she can't figure out your motives. Also if he/she is worthy asset than I won't mind adding few Lion's in our circle. And for Salazar's sake do not bring lousy Brown, Granger or Weasley. I refuse to let you in fool's company."
Tracey assured him: "Don't worry my King. I will bring someone worthy."
Hadrian: "In that case let's head to great hall for breakfast so we can be on time to classes."

Severus noticed how every pair is sitting and thought 'seems like Draco has informed Hadrian about lessons plan'. After Gryffindor took their seats in as usual no order manner, he noticed Nott seat next to Longbottom and Miss Davis seems to analyzing Gryffindors and then suddenly she glanced towards Hadrian for permission and He nodded. She took place next to half blood Mr. Finnegan. Severus thought 'Slytherin King's authority is showing' as no snake said anything about Slytherin pairing up with Gryffindor and half blood. Severus announced everyone will work with one who is currently sitting next to them as partner for rest of the year. Some Gryffindor tried to object as they were seated without thinking but as Severus started taking points and giving detention they understood they had no other option but accept it.
