High school, the best four years of your life.
At least not to Seorin. She slugged her feet down the hallways, not caring about how tired she looked in the morning for once. In her mind, she couldn't bother trying to impress anyone else around her, knowing that she didn't need to.
Yoo Hyerin trailed behind her, walking a bit more upbeat with her steps. "At least try to look alive, Seorin." she chuckled, seeing as she was basically walking with her eyes closed.
"I'm a water shifter, we get our energy from the moon. Does the sun blinding my eyes at seven in the morning seem to be giving energy?" she grumbled, feeling more grumpy than usual. Lazily, she grabbed a textbook for her first class from her locker, Advanced English.
English was always one of her stronger subjects, having Mark around to teach her when they were younger helped immensely. Advanced classes weren't too much of a struggle for her either, knowing that she could solve any question in her sleep. It was safe to say that she wasn't only a genius with her element, but in academics as well.
"I have chemistry first period, tell me what we do in English!" Hyerin skipped away, leaving Seorin to drag herself to class alone. The crowded hallways of unnecessarily loud students brought her patience even lower.
"People are literally less than a foot away from each other; why do they have to yell?" she muttered to herself, finally reaching the classroom.
She scanned the room, trying to find any familiar faces. Despite being a rather popular name in the Republic, she didn't bother making too many friends outside of her close circle, causing her to dread being in class without Hyerin or Mark.
"Assigned seating? You're kidding me." she thought to herself, looking at each desk to find her name.
BAEK SEORIN, RANK 2
In annoyance, she rolled her eyes at her rank being written down on the name card, knowing that's exactly why people take advanced classes. She mentally cursed herself for always being second in her class, just below that stuck up fire shifting prick, Lee Jeno.
Well actually, she thought he wasn't all too bad, quite decent in fact. Jeno actually cared about his grades and was a hard worker, explaining why he was top of his class. Although, the fact that he was associated with Park Jisung automatically made her grow a hatred towards him.
Drowsiness took over her, making the sleepy girl nuzzle her face in her sleeve. She decided to doze off for the time being, seeing that she was early enough to catch some extra minutes of rest for the day. Dozing off slowly, she laid her head onto the desk, cuddling into the comfort of her hoodie.
"Boo."
Abruptly, she snapped her head up to find herself face to face with evil.
Her teeth gritted as she saw Jisung take a seat in the chair beside her, a wry smirk plastered on his lips. His hair was still slightly damp from his morning shower, mostly hid by his hood, but the fresh scent still radiated strongly off of it. Unlike Seorin, his energy was at a high, gaining it from the beaming sun.
