"Who's ringing the damn doorbell?" Jisung hissed, trying to keep his attention on the game. Chenle paused it momentarily, annoyed with the same dinging sound that rung through the house.
It wasn't often that Jisung was able to hang out with them anymore, but he made plans to walk over to Chenle's since it was Halloween.
He laid back into cushion, playing with his dark strands of hair that were in need of a trim.
"Trick or treat, dust bunny." a female voice rang from downstairs.
Automatically, their heads shot up, recognizing the sweet tune of her voice. With no hesitation, Hyuck made a run for it downstairs, needing confirmation so Jisung didn't do anything stupid.
"Hyuck," Jisung grumbled, following in his footsteps.
"Jisung, wait!" Renjun pulled him by the wrist, halting his steps.
The weight in his sternum grew heavy, yearning to hear the voice of the person he missed more than anything. His eyes switched to a glowing shade of gold that contrasted with the pitch black, his gut sinking with butterflies.
"Jisung, you can't see her." Renjun insisted, holding back the boy who longed to see the face he missed so badly.
"Renjun, let go." he spoke lowly, wiggling out of his grip.
Although he held on with all his might, Jisung was clearly stronger, storming down the stairs in hopes to catch at least a glimpse of her.
He bumped into Hyuck on his way down, making his eyes widen with fear.
"Jisung!" he called out, but the stubborn boy reached the bottom before he could stop him.
Luckily, Chenle shut the door just on time, successfully hiding him from her. Jisung's orbs turned a deep shade of maroon, clenching his fists tightly.
"She's gone, again." he hissed, striding over to the door.
"Jisung, you need to stop." Chenle pleaded, stopping him from unlocking it.
"Seriously, you know what'll happen if she knows we can contact you- or if your father found out you saw her." Hyuck frowned.
The weight inside of his chest crushed his heart, as if he could hear it shattering into a million pieces once again. He shoved his face into his hands, feeling the heat rise to his eyes.
"I just wanna see her, please." his vision blurred, mixing into the red shade of his irises. Chenle lead him to the window, opening the blinds just enough.
"She's right there, walking to the house across from mine." he pointed to the girl with two long braids, holding Aerin's little hand tightly.
Even through the salty tears in his vision, he couldn't take his eyes off of her.
