"Hey, Seorin!" a recognizable voice called out.
She turned on her heel, meeting face to face with four familiar boys. Her smile gleamed in their direction, giving them a small wave. "What's up?" she greeted them.
"Sorry about Jisung earlier. We were wondering if you wanted to hang out with us!" the smaller boy exclaimed.
She crinkled her eyebrows in response. It's crazy how they wouldn't have spoken a word to each other just last week and now they want to be friendly with her.
"Look, I know this is weird. But honestly, you're kinda cool." Donghyuck scratched the back of his head, the other three nodding in agreement. Seorin bit her lip in thought, wondering if she had anything planned.
"Uh, sure. What are you guy's plans?" she asked, remembering Hyerin was headed to the office and Mark had university.
"I'm starving after that... awkward... lunch. Can we please get something to eat?" Chenle pleaded, making Renjun shake his head at his whining. "Honestly, I could really go for a meal right now too." Seorin shrugged.
"Cool, we can grab something then." Jeno smiled, twirling the keys in his fingers. Seorin mentally thanked him, knowing she wouldn't have to walk home from school today. Renjun drove Chenle, while Jeno took Seorin and Donghyuck.
"We're sorry about earlier, by the way." Hyuck apologized once more, looking at himself in the rear view mirror.
Seorin let out a lighthearted chuckle. "It's seriously no problem. I know how angry he gets, it's nothing new to me."
"How's your hand?" Jeno questioned, tapping his fingers to the music on the steering wheel.
She looked down at her palm that had been hidden by her jacket sleeve, regardless of how hot she had been all day. "It's healing, thankfully I treated it right when it happened." she brushed it off.
Hyuck raised an eyebrow. "You were near water when it happened?" he asked, aware that water shifters were able to heal with their abilities.
Seorin nodded slowly, trying to figure out what he was getting at. The two let out a frustrated sigh, puzzling her even more. "What's that supposed to mean?" she bit her lip in confusion.
"You were by the river, weren't you?" Jeno mentioned.
"Yeah, how did you know?"
"That's where he goes at night to de-stress himself. He was probably really angry." Hyuck explained, making her mouth form an 'o' shape.
"Jisung often goes through his own battles, he doesn't know how to cope with his emotions well. That's why he has some pretty bad anger issues." he continued.
"I figured. That's why I was just trying to comfort him, but I guess that resulted in this." she shrugged, looking down at her hand.
"Ah, that's even worse. He hates when people try to help him, he doesn't know how to accept it." Jeno added, mentally facepalming at his friend's stupidity.
