It seems like she was always pulled back to where the moon shined brightly on her face, attracted to it's luminescence like the tides she could sway.
Something about standing against the freezing railing in the dead of night, barely cuddled up into warm layers was therapeutic- numbing to the pain that resided in her chest heavily.
Not a single creature was out and about, seeking comfort in their own home and families. No birds flew in the night sky, no fish came up to the surface.
It seemed like they all had places to be, unlike the distraught pieces that she was carrying around everywhere she went.
The lunar body shining above her was bound to shine fully in days time, making her absolutely restless at night. She felt like an insomniac during these phases, not allowing herself to sleep away the pain.
With her fingertips, she swirled the river's water into small whirlpools, seeing the silver hued bubbles rise to the surface. The sound of it's rippling somewhat eased her nerves and the intensity of her anxieties as she laid her chin on the dark railing, feeling the coolness send chills through her flesh.
She trailed her eyes over to the railing, seeing droplets of a translucent and red liquids, plastering a puzzled look onto her face.
"Is this bloo- ouch!" she hissed as she took the heavy crimson fluid into her fingertips, dropping it at the touch.
It was burning hot, making her scrunch up her face in slight pain.
"Jeez, maybe I really shouldn't blood shift." she mumbled, bringing her fingers to the clear, foggy droplets.
At the contact, they shined in the moonlight, glowing the same shade of iridescent pearl.
Suddenly, a rush took over her body, seeing foreign visions flash between her eyes.
"I hate living like this!" a trouble voice cried out to the water, only the waves listening to his pain.
His tone was laced with pure heartbreak, cracking at the higher pitches. His heart felt heavier than ever, weighing him down like an anchor.
He clenched his fists, erupting a grand flame that circled with nothing but black hues, tossing it straight into the river like he always did.
It wasn't often that he broke down, in fact he didn't much at all.
His way of coping was a lot different, numbing the emotions before he had a chance to feel them. He figured it was better than letting it get to him- but the eyes never lie.
With intensified training that caused more severe psychological effects, his feelings couldn't be suppressed any longer, exploding during all of his breaking points.
"I hate it!" he roared, a scarily dark flame escaping his mouth.
His fingers tugged at the freshly cut hair on his scalp, feeling the breeze cool him at the touch. Everything he had been avoiding all came rushing back to him, erupting like a volcano.
"She's not gonna make it." he whimpered, feeling the boiling tears stream down his face, the same ones he didn't dare shed in front of her. They dropped onto the contrastingly cold metal, sizzling at the contact.
The sound of the machines beeping out of control, deafening to the ear was on a constant loop, as well as the image of her laying on her bed almost lifelessly- causing him to be taken out of the room.
With no thoughts, he clenched his fists as tight as he could, slamming them into the railing.
Vermillion oozed out of the now bruised flesh, settling right beside the salty liquid that escaped his tears ducts. All of his emotions were now there, on the railing he used lean next to her on.
All of the more pleasant times flooded through his mind, almost mocking him. He didn't know if he'd rather forget them, or hold on- knowing it was the last thing that could keep him going.
"I miss you more every fucking day, Seorin." he choked, enduring the burning that grew in his chest.
Finally catching a breath, she threw the foggy liquid into the waves, seeing the glow disperse quickly.
Leaning over her own body, she hyperventilated, uneasy after the sudden visions that rushed through her mind with no permission.
With no doubt in her mind, she knew exactly who's tears those were, unwillingly feeling all of the emotions attached to them. They were heavier than the weight of the world, crashing down on her the same way it did on him.
"I'm so sorry, Park Jisung." she sobbed, holding herself in the sleeves of a hoodie she never let go of.
A million questions went through her mind, stunned and distraught with what she just experienced.
How did I see those visions?
Who's not gonna make it?
Does he really miss me the way I miss him?
