As the first round of awards and speeches passed by, intermission commenced, giving them all time to use the restroom or get food.

Seorin got up from her chair to head over to the entrees, picking up a plate to eat.

She eyed all of the fancy courses amongst the table, her mouth watering at the sight.

"This is the only good thing about these events..." she said under her breath, placing a couple slices of the delicious buttered biscuits they served.

She grabbed a piece of baked salmon with the tongs, the grumbling in her stomach going crazy.

"Sounds like there's an animal in there." Mark chuckled, grabbing himself a piece of chicken.

Seorin rolled her eyes, picking out a side dish. "I can't believe you really thought there was an animal in your stomach that you had to feed when we were little."

Mark turned red with embarrassment, remembering their conversations as kids.

"Shut up." he mumbled.

"How are you? I'm surprised you haven't gotten up to pee a million times." he teased, referring to her drinking ten cups of water during the ceremony.

"Maybe it's cause it's a full moon, or the fact that my heart is shitting itself, but I really need some water in my system for some reason." she shrugged, shuffling to the side as she went down the line.

"Hey, don't stress it. You're gonna be announced in probably another half hour, you can't be up there pissing yourself." he joked.

"Whatev- shit." she mumbled under her breath, feeling her shoulder bump into a hot body.

Mark's eyes widened, along with his.

Apologetically, she looked up at the figure, finding herself face to face with the one boy she hadn't touched in months.

Both of their eyes glimmered that same gold sparkle, mixing in with their natural eye colors.

Stunned, she stayed there with her eyes locked on all of the features she missed, him doing the same.

Snap out of it, Jisung. He might see.

Abruptly, he cleared his throat, tearing his eyes away from her.

"It's nice to see you again, Baek." was all he said before walking away with his plate of food, leaving her speechless.

Seorin was frozen in place, shaking with the plate in her hand.

His tone was even more husky and deep, matching his new masculine build. Although he looked and seemed different, it all felt the same.

The sound of his voice made her heart jump and ache with that same dawning weight, as well as the swirling amber pools of his irises. Don't get her started on the familiar nickname, it almost felt like home to her.
