"I don't get it, none of this really aligns." Mark said, rubbing his temples in frustration.
The four were in a group call, trying to solve the rather nonsensical situation they found themselves in.
"I'm looking at our current textbook and the photos you sent us, there's no such thing as the Kim dynasty." Renjun bit his lips, hopelessly flipping through the pages to find anything of the sorts.
Seorin sighed as she looked through the textbook she stole from the library, interested in the pictures displayed throughout.
"This book ends once our parents were inaugurated to their positions, before we were even born." she commented, skimming over the paragraphs.
"Does it have anything about Kim Jihyeon?" Hyerin mentioned, making her eyes light up.
She flipped to the glossary to find the mysterious name, navigating through the pages to find any information they could get their hands on.
"Here." She placed her finger on the paragraph, clearing her throat to read it out loud.
"Kim Jihyeon was the only child of Jiseok and Seyeon. Although they hoped to have a son inheriting the throne, Seyeon fell ill and infertile. Due to complications Seyeon had through her pregnancy with her daughter, Jihyeon was born with a heart condition that altered her shifting- causing her flames to reflect multiple colors at birth. Jiseok only saw this as a threat, preventing her from ever being seated as one of the leaders."
Seorin furrowed her eyebrows, still unable to connect any dots.
"Okay, so she was a prodigy, but it was because of a possible genetic issue." Renjun shrugged, not understanding completely either.
"At least we're one step closer to confirming that Kim Jihyeon is Jisung's mom." Hyerin mentioned, making all of their faces light up.
"So she never died?" Mark tilted his head, continuing to search about the unheard of Kim Dynasty on google.
"They wouldn't make prescriptions for a dead person... plus don't you think it's weird that Jisung never let us go to his house?" Renjun brought up, making their thoughts grow.
"How could they be hiding something like this? I mean, whoever's behind this literally rewrote history, our textbooks say nothing about Jiseok getting slayed by his son in law or anything." Seorin pursed her lips. A small period of silence lingered, keeping them deep in their curiosity.
"It's Park Jiwoon, it has to be." Hyerin broke the silence, making all of them avert their attention to her camera.
"Only someone in probably the highest authority could pull off something like this, he clearly wanted to make the Kim Dynasty disappear for his own power. Maybe that's why the 'accident' with Jihyeon happened- he was trying to get rid of the last one."
